Are you familiar with these ads: 5-top-sites.com best4sites.net everyrule.com 25-topsites.com thinktarget.com toptensites.org 10-bestsites.com best8sites.org megasearch.biz 8bestsites.com expert-expert.com 10-top-sites.com chosenresult.com 9topsites.com 1s.md dbmoz.com faster-results.com alltheindustrials.com e-nternet.com webzsearch.com top8sites.com 7-topsites.com These are low paying ads, CPC around $0.0+ range. They are literally 8000 of such sites out there, taking up much space of your adsense block. They are low paying, and usually provide junky content. If your visitor happens to click on them, they will definitely get dissappointed and thought you recommended them (not all surfer know adsense are ads, especially we are good at making ads look like content). By blocking them, you will see better ads and hopefully higher paying ones. Found this via Digg, you can use a recent debut called: AdsBlackList.com. While the previous AdsenseBlackList.com has been shut down by Google (due to trademark issue), AdsBlackList is here to help. Just sign up, put in your URL and keyword, click generate. Instantly you will get an extensive list of 200 sites to block. Next, login to your adsense account, adsense setup >> competitive ad filter, copy and paste, done. In one hour, adsense will start to block those sites, and hopefully return you with better paying ads. Daniel Tan (sorry if any of you own those domains, I believe in content)
It may work for some people, but for others it might not. I noticed that my earnings actually decreased by adding the sites that Adsblacklist told me to my competitive filter.
Yes it may work or not...while they may be low paying ads they may be filling up space where ads would not otherwise appear. (eg. lack of inventory)
I have always wanted to have the list, as I am getting complaints from friends and family asking me why I link out to such sites. They don't know they are ads So I guess visitor's experience is another reason why I wanted it so much. True, it might not work if the niche is often out of inventory.
I prefer to filter the irrelevant or crap ads manually as I see them... 200 is not that big if you have many sites on your account.
yeah.. they are MFA sites and normaly they are low paying sites. I have some of them in my ad filter.
Always block these ads on entertainment sites like Myspace or gaming. There is enough of entertainment ads out there , and that will not leave your space empty. But there is some problem with blocking those ads today for me.I havent used it for quite a long time, cause my block list was full. Today I added few from my Myspace site cause it start to have 2 cents average click. Usually Google block them within 2-3 hours, but it was at least 10 hours now, but theye ar still there. Com'on Google
Those are MFA sites. Just check their websites, they have no contents. I also block those sites. There is another thread here about this topic. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=157070 And you know what? http://www.adsblacklist.com/ is BACK!
sweet i am going to try this... why is it, that when i "generate list" it only gives me like 199 results...I WANT THEM ALL
Where do you get the idea that this will increase income by 50%, you didn't quite cover that or what you've found in testing to make such a statement. It's a bit misleading otherwise. In our testing, blocking these types of places did not increase anything; it was arguable if it was the reason for any increases or decreases. There are *so* many factors when it comes to making the best of AdSense. It's been stated that Google gives you the highest paying ads it can offer for your spots. Even if some ads only pay .01 per click, .01 per click is better than a PSA anyday and I'd worry more about bettering your content than wasting time on this stuff. The "competitive ad filter" wasn't built soley (if at all) to attempt to block low paying sites, it was built to block "competitors". Meaning if you are selling a product that company XYZ also sells, you can block company XYZ from placing ads on your site. It's been used to block so theorized low paying ads, but I still argue there is zero evidence pointing in any direction as to if this works or not or is even worth your time in comparison to other things you can spend time doing in efforts to increase your earnings.
