If you want to write a best wishes comment for Ron Paul's birthday, they have a post about it on his website. He was born August 20, 1935, and is celebrating his 76th birthday today.

One of the most interesting potential presidential candidates I must admit . If anyone wants to learn more about this guy you should watch his interview on Pierce's Morgan talkshow . If i was a US citizen i'd vote for this guy .

Can we get one of his clones in Europe ? We need a couple of guys like him to make some noise about the real problems . I'm sure the British business owners would love to get some assault rifles for future riots .

I must admit, I used to think Paul as a panic seller. But more I know about this guy, more I find him interesting.
Of course most of the times his 'predictions' are way over the top. But when he is not making a prediction, he talks sense.

Really surprising, this guy is not popular between republicans, I wonder why?

    :)

I hadn't seen that interview, just found it on YouTube. It really does go into some detail:

With Ron Paul, he's seeking the Republican presidential nomination, but his views are more libertarian. Gross generalization, but Republicans probably appreciate his ideals of lower taxes and spending. Beyond that, not as much.

Some unpopular Paul positions with Republicans:
    • ending a large number of government organizations
    • ending the fed.
    • Withdrawing most of our financial and military aid to foreign nations.
    • Non-hawkish stance with countries like Iran and N. Korea

All told, pretty radical considering where the nation is at, but after four years of Obama, more and more people are finding his ideas, radical and otherwise to be a preferable alternative. His anti-war positions have a LOT of support from the lefties who are unhappy with Obama.

Though I do think the privately owned fed needs ending, what will replace it and how will the changeover to whatever replaces it affect the country in an already waning state?
