Hi, I've recently created a website where you can find important info (capital, currency, currency code, TLD, calling code, google news, yahoo answers about the country, page of the country on Wikipedia e.t.c.) of the countries you are interested in. The website URL is http://getcountries.info. Thank you.Â
It has good features. You need to change the title tag, the meta tags, probably the H1, etc tags, get the singles ad off to make it more professional. My opinion, otherwise. You have a lot of work to do.
Thank you for your replies. bravoman1, what do you mean saying "You need to change the title tag, the meta tags, probably the H1, etc tags, get the singles ad off to make it more professional."? Please write a little more details. Do you mean html tags? And what's wrong in meta tags? Please write also what it means "get the singles ad off to make it more professional". I have put an ad from Australia: http://www.getcountries.info/australia/. I think you talk about it. P.S. Everybody has to work on its website more and more to make it better and better! Thanks again.
Feel free to suggest what kind of information you'd like to see on countries pages. Thank you very much.
Hello, Your website is too good. it will really helps all those peoples who needed the information about the other countries.. great job
Took a look at your entry for the United States and offer these comments: * The illustration of the map should be able to enlarged by clicking on it. I know that the maps of many countries have significant details that might not be appreciated in the very small size on which they now appear on your site. * The capital of the United States is actually "Washington, DC", not simply "Washington". That is an important distinction because there is also a state in the USA called Washington (which is on the opposite coast from Washington, DC) and you would not want your site users to be misled. * In the currency code section I would also list the symbol for the currency ($) as well as the currency's name. This would be useful because many foreign exchange sites simply use the symbol and not the name. * I am not sure what purpose the "TLD" column serves. In my view it could be omitted without losing any functionality. * As for the Google map illustration, the "pin" is stuck on what appears to be random location in the middle of the country. Perhaps it makes more sense to have the default setting for the pin placement on the nation's capital? Think about it. * No photos! I would recommend not having an area of the site which is not populated with content. As for additional "static" content, perhaps population and the name of the leader of the government? The various news and Twitter feeds are good. Hope this was helpful. - Joe
Tropean, Thank you very much for your advices. I've already done some changes you've written - now you can zoom google map and the capital of United States is changed to "Washington, DC". I'll think about currencies symbols, because only several currencies have html code of their symbols. I'll also think about google pin, population and the name of the leader of the government. But I didn't understand what have you written about "TLD" and photos. Can you explain what did you mean. Thanks.
I am not as technically experienced as many on this board and I did not know that "TLD" means (I think) "Top Level Domain". So now I understand what TLD is, but I still do not think it adds much to the description of each country. Just my opinion, though. As for the photos, what I mean is that when I went to the site the photos did not load. I just visited again and the photos loaded and look terrific. Good luck with the site!
