Google has come out with new sitelink display in its search. Though it existed earlier, this time it is a bit different. Type any website name or keyword and search it ! like cnn money, masterandstudent etc.
Yes, It's true. Google shows sitelinks in different style. I think, it takes more space which may affect traffic as user not scroll the search page and see the other sites.
In the webmaster tools, the sitelinks are displayed. Interestingly, there is an option given by google to 'demote' these links. But why would anyone want to demote these links?
If Google generated a sitelink from your contact page, you may want to 'demote' it in order to free one space for another link from your site (more important!) to be selected in the future. Sitelinks are limited to 12 now, I think!
It all seems to be part of Google's desire to provided better information on "Brands". It all makes sense really, if I am searching for United Airlines, why should I see a bunch of non United airline links? Even my little company gets an expanded links profile. I think its great. Watch for Bing to follow
Yes i also checked that google has changed the way to show the site links on search engine, google update its technology frequently that is why i think google is better than others
Google is a step ahead. Who would have thought, a few years before, motorola would be bought by google?
I think this has quite a large impact for clicks on 2nd and 3rd result on SERPs when sitelinks are displayed. It shouldn't be a problem unless you are competiting on a brand name type of search for some reason. More traffic for number 1 brand search result...
Those large box of site links only appears if you are looking for some exact product, business or website and it is really helpful if you are looking only for contact pages as you don't need to browse through other pages, just click to it directly from SERPS. I think this is really good improvement and will improve user experience as I have found it usable already
Do you mean the more results link? Don't see if anything has changed unless of course it might be beta testing certain countries
