I was checking some good hosting providers and they are not using any cms, is it true or they just removing footprints of which cms they are using?
Joomla is a CMS (Content Management System) that runs on Windows and Linux servers, and a few versions of the Unix and Apple OS, make sure that your web hosts can run Joomla, however most every major hosting company will run this CMS just fine. There are some sites that will tell you that you can’t run Joomla on anything but Linux servers, but that is false.
Thats most likely because a lot of them aren't using a CMS. I know we don't, and don't plan on it either; it's a lot of bloat for no reason and actually can affect a lot of the creativity of web development. Many providers want a very responsive (static) site, instead of dynamic (PHP/MySQL) except for their billing/client management solutions.
There is no "best" one, it all depends on what you need from a cms, your personal preferences and what works best for you.
Wordpress is very easy to customize and you can build lots of cool stuff with it. I use WP to all my stuff and I've user Joomla before. Joomla is ok, but not near the quality and as easy as WP is
Which would allow users to search and register domains, set up hosting, and install software to their hosting using softalicious?
Joomla, Drupal and Expression Engine can be good. My Preference is expression Engine because you can easily configure WHMCS if you want. but If you really want to create a hosting site too easily you can use Wordpress. There is Fantastic Themeforest theme for hosting named "Phenomenon". Thanks Amdad
Well, for the front pages, they're not often changing, so my guess, they use static html! Just like in the 90's :-D
A content management system (CMS) is a system providing a collection of procedures used to manage work flow in a collaborative environment. These procedures can be manual or computer-based. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular Web site software compared to rest.
