Google Aquires Motorola Mobile Business

    As per recent posts http://www.webmasterworld.com/goog/4351577.htm, Google has acquired Motorola Mobility for 12+ Billion Dollars in cash. The money coming out of its Search business, is likely to divert G's attention from Search to Mobile market. Google Search, which is already loosing it's share to others like Bing and Yahoo needs to improve search results quality and bring in some innovative tools to retain it's market leadership.

    Good purchase by Google.

    Motorola has thousands of mobile patents. Things are starting to become interesting on the mobile market :)

    Though G is into everything, the only thing that they are making money is Search business. The money G is earning in Search is getting channeled to other businesses like Android, Mobiles, etc. which are yet to see any profits.

    The acquisition is made more out of necessity to defend it's Android platform. Google gets about 17000+ patents from this deal, it was told.
