Google Analytics Bounce Rate

    Hi,

    My bounce rate in Google Analytics is really high, its about 60%. I'm only using the analytics code on my home page, should it be on all the other pages that the home page point to?

    if it's html site you should insert the code in all the pages, php or any other cms only can add in header or fotter.

    No, not necessarily. The Google Analytics Code should be in the header or footer of the home page. Once a crawler crawls the site it stores the data for the whole site. If the bounce rate is as high as you say then maybe you should consider improving the content of the landing page of your site.

    hi,

    the idea is to use this feature where there is a need... for ex: you do not need it on 'terms and condition', but you need it on homepage, sales page, polls and so on.
    First of all if the home page has over 60% bounce rate for now you should focus on it, since 60% of visits leave your website. take that number down to under 30% and then think to have it somewhere else as well. In order to take that down you will need to review your e-marketing campaign, maybe SEO, PPC and/or anything that relates to traffic. To be short people that 'thought' you have what they looked for... realized once on your website that it was not the case.

    Bounce Rate Refer to if visitor stay on website or blog less then 5 sec then it will be converted into bounce rate.

    Don't worry it's not just you. An update to Google Analytics has effect more metrics than just bounce rates:

    We have seen similar changes to our metris as other have reported. In particular the percentage of returning visits have doubled.
