It appears that pretty much every blog on the internet that allows you to leave a URL on your comment have nofollow links. So is it that blog commenting is useless for link building? Or am I looking in the wrong place. Where can you find blogs which have dofollow links so your website will benefit from blog commenting?
No they will count them as valid back links.. setup a Google Webmaster profile using this link www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ then you can find all the linking sources. You can see that some of the no follow links are also in the indes...
i think that google makes some exception regarding nofollow... do you really think it ignores links from wikipedia?
Some of blog that using plugin such as comment luv will be good blog for build a backlink. I'm trying using this method it seem it improve my website position in google. Other than that try using social bookmark.
Not really. The different between nofollow and dofollow is just Nofollow doesnt pass the pr juice and not being indexed
It is hard to find a high quality blog with follow links, as majority of blog avoid spamming. Every backlink will help to improve traffic; if your comment is outstanding, it still attract user to visit your site.
You can install a plug-in, if you are using firefox browser. After installing, just right click to see a drop down menu which shows "nofollow". Click on this link will show the do-follow links in blue color and the no-follow links in pink color. Thus you can adjudge whether the blog is Do-Follow or not.
From a personal point of view, most blogs turn on the "no follow" attribute to deter away spammers commenting on a blog for the sole purpose of obtaining a PR juice and not contributing to the article in question. For example a post about SEO Techniques is getting a comment talking about how to get rid of acne fast with an anchor link to a website of total irrelevance to the subject being discussed. Now, a no follow link will get you indexed but will not get you the PR juice on that page. Google will index that link and it will still count as a backlink but with a no reference to PR juice. If you are looking to build traffic, consider commenting on high traffic sites and stay in context with the subject(follow or no follow), most users to that site will follow your anchor title to your site and if you have got something worth reading on your site, you have just gained a valuable reader and most times, you will get a returning visitor. This returning visitor might decide to share your website voluntarily and thus give you a very valuable backlink. This is my understanding of how it works and how it can be beneficial to you.
Absolutely spot on... link is a link and it's always nice to have a mix of links... only dofollow links will not look natural.
NoFollow links still bring traffic but will not help your pagerank. Do you know of a blog that gets a lot of readers? Those are the best to comment on. DO you have a website that allows visitors to contribute content? If so, no follow links will bring you traffic to do so, Google loves new content on your website, which will eventually lead to higher SERPs.
Blog Commenting is useful for Link Building. What you are confused here is that "Nofollow" is used for stopping the flow of Link Juice or PAge Rank. If you do not want your page rank to be shared, you simply add a "Nofollow" attribute to the link. The link remains there but the Page rank is not shared.
