I was writing on infobarrel and noticed that they put a keyword density limit of 5% or so on the content you can submit. Does this mean they're trying to prevent spam, or is it for better SEO?

5% is the limit, more than that would look like keyword stuffing

Yes try keep the keywords within 3-5% of total words. otherwise it'll be termed as keyword stuffing.

Search engine crawlers limit the use of keyword density between 3 to 5%. And once this limit is exceeded, and then there is a fair chance that the search engine might deem the certain web page as spam. So to be on the safer side and to make maximum use, keep your keyword density within 3 to 5%.

I use 3.5%-4%, usually stick to 4%. Had great results with it. Haven't took the risk with 5% yet.

Keyword density is a myth. It's not because you repeated your keyword 10x instead of 30x that you will get a better ranking. As long as you keep telling yourself that you are writing for users and not search engines, you should be good.

focus on creating quality and unique content, which will be interesting for people. If you will write in this way your keywords stuffing will be avoided automatically.

Write naturally, and work to reference the keywords you are targeting. This will yield much better results now, and in the future (as algorithms are refined).

I don't think keyword density is a myth, but rather a guideline to be followed. Spam is prevalent online and I consider keyword stuffing as one form of it. Not everyone on the internet writes with the users/readers in mind, but to better their rankings. Having a guideline such as keyword density helps. I usually recommend a keyword density of 1% in a 400-500 word article.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

If you are targeting your keyword ranking in respect of Google algorithm then your web content must have keywords density between 3-5 %. Anything above that may assume as a keyword stuffing and your website can put in spam box.

Trying to prevent spam. Also make sure that your keywords are evenly distributed and not concentrated all in one place.
