Hi .. do you think .US domains are good for ranking in Google.Com ?? less value then .org for example ? what do you think ?Â
It's worth about the same as .biz and .mobi, because it will never rank as high as Net/Org, if you can get the .Org version of the name you want get that first.
Lol, no. Domain suffixes has nothing to do with ranking when it comes to Search Engines. Get your .US domain name. Personally, I think its better than .org which is ONLY more popular.  A lot of people are moving away from the .com/.net/.org suffixes cuz the domain name they wish to own, isn't available there. Besides, how could search engines rank a site based on the suffix when .com/.net etc are no longer easily available by choice. Also, domain suffixes are sometimes chosen when the website is gonna be local. Example a local Indian porn site which advertises Indian babes gonna be www.indianpussy.in when most likely www.indianpussy.com is already taken. As I mentioned porn, there are plans to move all porn sites to .xxx suffixes, eg www.porn.xxx..... so again, Search engines has nothing to do with suffixes. However, if the .com is easily available, go with that!! Everyone want's a .com. .com .net .xxx .in .us are al first level so it doesn't matterÂ
Ok, if you say so bro. I Guess expertise over here is evaluated by post count. I won't even bother. Does anyone see the irony here? A guy made a thread asking if ".US domains are of less value than .ORG domains" when it comes to ranking and is now telling me I have a lot to learn. HAHAAAHAHA  If you believe search engines rank first level domains with their suffixes being a factor, by all means, carry on wise one.  But out of good nature, I'll have you know that its a wide misconception around the web. What I would tell you is, if there is/are popular or similar versions of your domain name in the .com section, there's the problem. www.ebay.in will never rank high in Google's search engine . Why?? I think you already know, you're all wise right? And I think that's where the myth derives from. People imitating popular domains using other suffixes thinking it'll be an instant hit or because .com is the most popularized by all famous online entities. Let me also have you know, that a country code top level domain name is sometimes the better solution for ranking in Google as oppose to the .com, which you may still attain and have it redirected. Don't you forget son, there are www.google.in, www.google.tt, www.google.it etc domains for a reason. A .in domain name (India's country code top level domain) will obviously rank better on searches done through www.google.in as opposed to www.google.com. MANY POPULAR WEBSITES STARTED OFF AS .IN .IT .whatever and became very high ranked and bought over the parked .com domain name. There's a blog somewhere listing sites like these. But then again, I have a lot to learn, so I guess I'm all wrong Â
The question was if the country code domain ranked better on the US version of Google. I don't get it why you have to write half an article about something when it's a simple yes/no answer. My answer: no. The simple difference is that to own a .us domain you need to: be a United States citizen, resident, or organization, or a foreign entity with a presence in the United States. A .com, .net or .org should perform better since these are gTLD domains but the main thing you should do if you want to rank better in the US is to set your geographical targeting to the United States in your Google webmaster account.
Mate, this is a forum. No amount of information is never too much. Get over it. I'm sure more than half your knowledge came through online forums with much more information asked for by the OP. Besdies, if it was a simple yes/no answer, you post surely doesn't look like one word to me. I smell a ....Hyp........ O ........ crite.....
I started with an answer and then posted some details below. You just posted a wall of unorganized mess. Anyways, the OP got his answer so no need to continue posting on this thread if you don't blatantly just want to up your post count.
Actually that's exactly what I did, but apparently it was too long, kinda like a "half article". If you take a look at your post again, you're the one who STARTED with mess. Lol, why do you keep speaking against the very things you're subconsciously doing....?? If you so dearly intended to answer the Op and do just that, you won't have even bother to say a word about my response. I also didn't know I got paid for upping my post count. Thanks for the info.
@Wulkanen Thanks for answering .. @Andre91 : again, you have soooo much to learn , first thing first, learn how to read a question and try to answer THAT question ..
Dude, just stop it. Should I have done two seperate posts just to be able to quote you? No, that's not how forums work. And secondly, you gave out false information saying that there was no difference between ccTLD and gTLD domains. If you wan't to give advice so badly then get your facts staight. Heck Google even checks where your websites server is located to determine your targeted geo-location, so why wouldn't they look at the most basic thing of all, the domain names?
if you just like to promote in US then .us domain is worthy, but from people's habit, the regular extensions are prefered such as .com, .net, .org etc
There's no difference between .com/.org/.net with .us. All of them can rank well. It's all about how you SEO your website, not the domain name.
