how to show only ads targetted to to sites content?

I am making a website for adsense. I am noticing that it's displaying ads for me targeted to my browsing history, not targeted to the content of the website. Is there anyway I can control this? ie. force it to match the content of the website?

    Thanks.

Not sure there is. Why would you want to? A click's a click and those ads might be more attractive to the visitor.

a click isn't necessarily a click. well, it is but... let me try explain: firstly, if my website is related to a high price keyword, clicks for ads related to users interests may be worth much less than click related to content on my website.

secondly, i don't believe those targeted ads are very good. for example, one day i was researching about mattresses. Then i bought one (offline). Then, 2 months later, i was still being shown ads related to mattresses.

Those ads are completely automated..so you should try improving your site's content and visibility in search engines instead of playing around with the ads

moe, the ads appear like that only to you not to visitors who visit your website!

you should differentiate between those two different cases.

I was looking into trying to figure that out as well... I don't know jut yet, but I am waiting for a couple of responses from the Google Webmasters Help Center.

Now that I have read this though, this just might be the answer and hopefully it is.

In old Adsense version go to My Account tab and look for Interest-based Ads Preference [edit]. Click on [edit]. A new page will open and check the radio button for Do not show ads based on user interest or demographic categories. Visitation information from my sites will not be used to help create interest or demographic categories..

This will disable the ads based on user browsing history and ads will be served according to content of the website.

I hope you got it now GC ;)

so its like i told you, the ads appear based on your searches and it differs from a visitor to another.

therefore you can always switch between the two options you have in your google account.

    Cheers:)
