Is it because i simply cannot do marketing? Maybe because English is not my native language?

Could you post your website's URL here so we can see your website. There are various reasons why you are not making any sale. Maybe you are not getting any traffic, targeting the wrong keywords, website is not appealing enough or monetized enough. We would be able to give you a much better feedback if we can see your website.

No offense, I wouldn't really call that a "complex website". Also, have you done your homework on marketing?

I also do web design/development services. You won't make a dime if you don't get off your own website do a little hustling. Go out and find some of those new local companies and knock on their doors. Keep an eye on Craigslist for your area. Ask people that you know that own businesses if you they need or would like to have a website that might help them get more customers. Keep an eye on forum threads and offer your services here. There are plenty of people that need the work done but don't know where to go to get it... you just have to make yourself known.

You're in such a competitive market, building a website and thinking that's good enough probably won't do so hot for you. Trust me, I did the same thing and wanted to do web hosting services as well and have only generated 4-5 customers outside of those I have done web development for. I've had the company about 3 years now. Not great numbers!

    Good Morning-

I am seeking a Custom Graphic and Website Designer for a website that is about to launch. While we cannot offer compensation at this time, what we can offer you is a unique opportunity. We are hoping to link up with someone that is seeking a place to display their artistic abilities. All we ask is that you take our ideas, and lead and then you can pretty much run the show.

This opportunity would be a great opportunity for a college student looking to begin/start/add-to a portfolio. Great resume builder, and the website will be notice by an extremely large sub-set of individuals.

Reply to this thread if you are interested and we can set up a time to speak on the phone regarding this opportunity.

    Thank you for your time.

I took a quick look at your website. It looks ok, but how exactly do you expect to make money from it? The only thing I saw on the whole site that mentions money is a "donate" button at the bottom. You need some type of advertising, and then drive traffic to the site.

The reason is because most people do not make much money online. It's not as easy as you think for people to take out there wallets and give you cash these days unless you are selling something they want. Unfortunately, many experienced designers and coders are broke because they are not appealing to any target market that is profitable. Then you have some grandma come in and built a crappy website in a day and is selling rainbow ties making millions. It's because she is the one selling the products that people want.

Create a product/service that people want. Network and find partners along the way. Don't ever think that you can make it all on your own.

Most importantly GIVE GIVE GIVE. Do a free website for someone where you can, help solve problems on forums, give back a useful piece of software to the community. Don't look for anything in return, but it might just help to boost your popularity online or help you score an amazing deal with someone you didn't expect it to come from.

Oh, you website up there is nothing more than just another site.

Try to code a similar one and you'll see if its complex or not :p

The true is there is no such thing as "non competitive" markets nowadays.
After 3 years this website is still PR1, probably its game over for it, even if other methods were used since beginning I don't believe the results would be different, some websites are hopeless to start with.

Sometimes it is all about the niche, you might be able to make fantastic looking sites but if the niche is too competitive or too few searches, then you may not make anything

My suggestion to you is to meet with a person that needs a programmer and is short of money, you can make a good partnership.

I don't think the website is hopeless. I think may be you have not promoted it properly. Please give us some idea about any promotion work you have done for the website?

If you can create "complex" webpage, why don't you offer your service? You can offer it at freelance sites, or maybe at this forum.

All freelance jobs are related to tweaking things such as Drupal or about extreme complicated tasks for very little money...hopeless.

In which world you live? Nobody hires ppl from internet to do programming, they go for a programming company.
Why would they trust other person they don't even know, I wouldn't!

The website receives lots of traffic, it simply didnt generate any money, I don't see how more traffic would make any difference...
