Suitable permalink structure using Wordpress?

    I'm just about to start my first blog using my own domain and wordpress.

    I want it to be as search engine friendly as possible so I am keen to get the permalink structure correct. I don't really see the need to categorise permalinks by year/month/day.

    I'm thinking of using this permalink structure:

    www.domain.com/%category%/%postname%

    Would be nice to know if any experianced bloggers have some viewpoints on this.

    yeap, that works perfectly fine.
    but if you're hardcore, go for /%postname%
    ;)

    I was thinking of that too then thought %category% would add an extra keyword which is useful.
