info or .com for niche blog? Does it matter? From my research it seems that .info is cheaper which google rank doesn't like b.c it is affordable for spammers to purchase.
I've had .info blogs do just as wel as .com. Â It takes longer and requires more effort to get rolling but it's still doable. Â Content and promotional techniques count for way more than TLD choice.
hmm true..but now im starting to question if .info is that much cheaper. Sure the first year is very cheap but the price jumps up to the point where you are tempted to just get a .net or a .com. I dk
For long term use I would suggest use .com domain name since it's always the primary consideration for most people.
In India Primary Choice will be .com only , As people here no at all familiar with .info ,so it affects the site traffic , so we prefer only .com or .in
.info is fine if you are prepared to do all the legwork. I have had .com micro niche sites indexed to the top three pages of Google just because it was a .com and had the keywords in the title without doing any other work. I think having the keywords in the title is more important than the .com or .info.
If you want to make it big and for people to remember your blog then go for a .com Info is only good for proxy sites and ones that aren't so longer lasting. I just prefer them for testing stuff out like products or any upcoming projects without having to waste another $10 for a domain.
Dot info are for informational sites but can be registered for $2 at godaddy for first year only. Dot com are for almost any type of website. But if its 26 characters .com vs 5 characters easier to remeber .info I always go for the .info. If you planning on flipping a site within a year. And don't want to spend money on the name dot info will do also.
So I ended up getting a .com guys. Thanks for you input everybody! Here is my website. Check it out if you like beer! www.TheBeerInspector.com
i have used .ingo blog once. I worked hard also post unique content on finance, credit cards and banking. I was getting quick crawling by Google, but it was not visible on SERP. I had an idea that info blogs will not rank, but i was planning to do some R&D, and wanted to know about reason behind this. I could not find any thing, but just knew that .info domains will never come in ranking. some of .info domains are ranking on Google, but those are very old domains, having lots of pages.
It does matter. .COM gets better search results than .INFO .COM looks more reliable .INFO looks cheap and might be made my a spammer
If it were me and I was simply purchasing a single domain, i would go with .com. now if you were puchasing hundreds then .info might make more sense.
From my personal experience, .com > .net > .org > country tld > .info etc. But then it depends on SEO etc. later on. But .com would get more priority than .info . I had given away all my .info free years ago. Right now I have only one .info amongst my more than a hundred domains and that is also because of the fact that the other four first choice tlds were already booked. And I also bought .biz for the same in case .info does not work. For me, .info never seems to work out and I never get motivated by such a domain too easily.
Some people said that .info will be indexed slower than .com. But i don't feel that. So no matter if you choose .info rather than .com. It's cheaper LOL
Don't even look at it from an SEO perspective. How about the impressions your visitors get when they hit your site? Domains with .info suffixes are more about information products.. Free ones, at that. Now, if that's not the expectation you want to set, you can still go with .info but try to be more transparent about your intentions. There are no restrictions on the domain yet the one you choose sets a different tone, yanno? =o)
you have made a great choice in choosing .com. i have had .info ones do great also, it just depends on the content and the quality of the links
