was there just a pr update - like today

one of my sites jumped pr up and its valid.

check your site. I think there was just an update of some kind

Yes. I have checked now. It is right. My blog "http:www.chukkiri.blogspot.com" few days back rose from PR0 to PR1. Then I felt a lot of happiness. But after few days it fallen down to PR0 again. I felt so sorry because it's alexa ranking stands at 7,58,016. Now after reading your information I again checked it. Now the page rank is PR1.

perhaps the update is mid way through, one of my sites is pr3 then 5 then 3 and bounces back and forth

 

yes there was a page rank update last week. second times in the year. 

 

yes there is a update of pr and my newly created site get pr2

 

this is second minor update, after the big one... Pr 4 to pr 2 now pr 3 for my blog www.geeks4share.com

 

There was an update yesterday (8/05)

 

Weird. I checked my PR yesterday, and it was a 2, I checked again after seeing multiple threads stating there was yet another update, and my site is now a PR3.

 

I wouldn't worry about it being weird, I'd just be happy I moved to PR 3.

My blog didn't change :S

 

I'm definitely not complaining, I just think it's weird all these PR updates are occurring so rapidly. 

 

possibly a result of google +, the google boys reweighting the crawlers and all that good jazz

 

Could this have any effect on search results... one of my blogs was the number 1 result for a certain keyword on google and now its on second page?

 

Yeah, I was just checking one of my sites, and these brand new sub-pages had PR already!

 

Google has always stressed not to worry too much about PR, but to concentrate on buidling quality content and getting backlinks

 

A long time ago I learned a little secret: Forget About Page Rank. 

If you have a good site it will grow.  

 

Oh, so if this is true, why bother to check the PR of our sites and blogs? Does PR really matters or it is the SERP that we must put into priority, eh?   

 

Page rank is important as this tells you where your website's are in the SERPs. The higher your rank, the more likely you will reach the top spot in SERPs and that means lots of organic traffic. I wouldn't be so manic or paranoid over it though, because Google tweaks their algorithms from time to time and your website's PR is bound to fluctuate. 

 

This type of thing happens most of the time, maybe some site that linked to you got lucky and passed the valuable link juice to you .
