Templates/themes with high number of scripts can have some impact.

I can imagine that a high percentage of clicks are generated through blogs via wordpress, so why would they punish people who are making their business work more?

Have you done some extensive research to be this true? And where are the results of your findings?

This is just like how "Google punishes web directories for being a web directory". NO! Google does not punish a certain platform because it does not like it, it does not care what you use. It does care what seo methods you use.

Well looks like you wasted two days doing a half baked research. There is no evidence regarding search engines and website CMS platforms. It could be that the WP theme might be having so many blackhat footprints that it might have been affected.

Also panda's got to do with content, not CMS.

a lot of link farm websites were built via wordpress, that's why you feel that they are affected.

Yeah... You are partially right.. Google did this because many bloggers migrated from blogger to WP in recent times.. It is interesting that many blogger blogs rank well after the panda update.

It not only wp but also Blogspot. The reason is very simple as you can see many of them are autoblog or with lots of duplicate content

It is not about google loving wordpress . It is about your on-page seo that matters. Wordpress does a great job with the help of lots of plugins to make your on-page SEO work so easy. Even after Panda update or any other algo change , Wordpress is the coolest CMS and it do produce results ..

i started a WP blog a year ago and have a really good relationship going with Google. been using only white-hat SEO and ive been rewarded with high SERPs. articles i put up get indexed within a day or two and same goes with images. ive looked a lot into WP SEO and id say one of the techniques thats paying off the most is the perma links. if you are using the default structure, you are missing out. i recommend using custom structure somewhat similar to this

    /index.php/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
