Although I believe people have right to defend themselves and I believe people should be allowed to have a gun, but we have to look the reality. If people have easy access to firearms, there'll be more crimes like university shooting or maybe bank robbery. I'm just saying that not all the people are lawful.
That's the opposite of reality. Look at where every school and university shooting has taken place - "firearm free zones". Gun control allows these to happen. Think. If you're a psychopath wanting to shoot up a school would you choose the one with the sign Gun free or Gun ho'? When was the last time you heard of a public shooting in NH, VT or Switzerland?
The people who are outlaws, always have easy access to guns.. Do you think its hard for a criminal or a psychopath to obtain a gun in even most regulated and controlled State? Nope.. But its hell for a law abiding citizen to get a gun for self defense. Gun control laws favor crime and criminals in a big way.
kerosene, rtelford. exodus, alicia madison stoner3221 BRUm, yes i heard ......in some euro countries laws are allowed to carry guns to save themselves from thieves ...
I believe its fine to own a gun for protection but make sure its in legal terms and you've got a license for it. I have one here legally.
I don't agree with licensing. It's a way for the establishment to know exactly how many guns you have, which ones they are and in some cases (if they're strict) how much ammunition you have; I don't believe the government has a right to interfere as I don't see it as an issue for their concern. It's like mandatory bureaucracy for buying fishing rods. In states like NH and VT open-carry is not uncommon and no licenses are required. When (if?) the body, retina and hand scanners are removed from the US airports my dream is to travel there to experience firearm freedom. A friend just came back from travelling the world and told me that before being permitted to enter the US, not only did he have his face and hands scanned, but a swab was even taken! Absolutely Ludicrous! A white Englishman should be given more respect. God damn the US administration to Hell.
Got one of those. Tigger used it to defend our Christmas tree a bit back. Must've worked, none of the presents went missing. The two single action Colt clones above it were purchased at same time along with a Win Yellowboy repro in .45 Long (same as the Colts) for getting into CAS (which so far I havent done cause all the clubs are a pretty fair hike from here). Aside from that have the standard assortment, 16ga auto, .410, several 22s... mine from when I was a kid, my dad's gun 22 came here after he died, my son's single shot is here, and a survival semi-auto that fits into is own stock, plus assorted semi-auto pistols in varying calibers (some mine, some the Bride's). Also one tiny 22 revolver I gave my wife (never say I'm not a romantic), and everyone has a pellet/BB pump around here for little nuisance purposes. Gave my pre-64 Win '94 30-30 to my brother (occasionally have pangs of remorse on that). Personal favorite's the Beretta 92FS, mostly cause a 1911 is a pain it the rear to clean. Still think the 1911 is the one to have in hand if you need to use one, despite the smaller capacity mag. The 9mm round has lousy terminal ballistics, and if somethings bad enbough to shoot at it's worth hitting with something that keeps it down the first time. Forty-five ACP is just a better round than the Beretta's 9mm, and cocked-n-locked is the fastest method of access available in a bind. Second best fast access is double action, so the Beretta has it's good points. Thing was accurate to a fault right outta the box, and zero failure to fire problems unless you let it get dirty in the extreme. I think it's load rocks if they'd fit in the mag. Studies place Glock19 above both that one and the 1911, but havent talked myself into buying an ugly plastic gun yet. I know... they're good, they're just so damned ugly. So yeah... there are a few here. Having ONE is kinda like having only one size of nails in the workshop. They all have varying uses.
