I've only started to use this method in the past six weeks through my Product Review Site and I'm still creating new links everyday subject to the product meeting my filtering process. I'm trying to double my earnings each month, so by month six if I'm still on track, I should be on target for over £1000 per month and that's when the real fun begins. Yes my product review site, but not really the homepage and the banners and links for amazon on there. I pick certain technology products between £100 and £300 that have good recent positive feedback, are in stock and have very low or limited traffic using the Google keyword tool for research. I then have a page ready which I put the content on and have the item and model name in my title tags, main description, image, throughout the content and as part of the domain extension and this has worked quite well. Your approach is good, i like it. I do the same thing with my affiliate sites. On top of that, if the content is compelling enough, there's a good chance for making sales.
The content doesn't have to be compelling just well laid out and straight to the point which works really well. Mark

I totally agree with keeping your sites as minimalistic as possible. The less clutter you have the less you have to distract your visitors away from the things you actually want them to see- the products!
