Hi all, I've been adding BL's at a rate of about 5->10 per week and the site is slowly climbing up the SERPs - or at least it was. Was at #14 yesterday. Now completely gone (for both primary and secondary keys). BL's still reported as same, site still in G cache. Most recent cache was yesterday. I know that now and again sites can simply drop out of SERPs for a day or two - I've seen it happen within a single datacenter, but never seen it happen across every datacenter at the same time. Is this normal - just one of those things ? or is G upto something ? Still #1 across the board on Yahoo & MSN. The only thing I've done recently is add the co-op - I've only got a weight of 1700 (or so) so I'm not expecting a massive jump in BL's. co-op stats show 360 page impressions. Surely that wouldn't be enough of a jump to set alarm bells ringing at G.
hmmm, we've not completely dropped out of SERPs. We're at about #180 which just happens to be where we were about 3 or 4 months ago. wtf are they upto now. Is anyone else seeing anything like this ?
There is some sort of an update happening right now - and google typically mixes results up around then. I have a few pages that are dropping off and on in the serps daily or every couple of days right now. Give it time to stabilize.
Seeing the same also. A couple of my terms have returned back to the positions they were at two months ago. Since then I've been pointing tuns of links. From the first page the terms dropped back down to third page.
That's what I think is odd. It is stable - same results across every datacenter. I've seen BL's cycle around the last 3 values ( ie 2980, 25 & 0 ). But never seen SERPs cycle to old results.
Maybe G has just moved back to an old set of data on the datacenters, in the past there has been an update not far behind, or change to the algo.
That's what I thought - perhaps they'd reloaded old data whilst the current dataset undergoes a major change. Then I looked at the SERPs again some of the results are links that I know I only added recently - so it can't be a complete reload of old data. I suppose I'll know over the next few days - another option is that I've lost a hell of a lot of BL's, but the loss isn't yet being reported.
Under my domain, google is showing cached pages from the past after once showing the newer pages. What is taking place, a PR update or a backlink update?
It's my personal opinion that it's going to be a BL update (there may be a TBPR as well). During the previous BL update, my BL's jumped to 2980 due to someone linking me from a certain cms site. I'm expecting BL's to drop to a more reslistic 200 or so. But I'd not expect this to effect SERPs - surely G use an internal version of BL's, not that which is reported by the link: when working out SERPs.
BL = BackLink, TBPR = Tool Bar PageRank They simply acronyms - which save typing the whole phrase out each time. McDar is now showing 0 links, 0 pages indexed, but fortunately still some PR. So at least I know my site hasn't misteriously been banned. It is possible that G are cycling through some old data - but I find that hard to believe. Hopefully things will return to normal over the next few days. If there is such a thing as normal for G.
There are just too many people, ourselves included, trying to exploit Google's ranking algorithm. So they always have to come with something new.
I dont know I heard alot of people telling me there site fell out of google never happen to me, Droped 1-5 opsitions never to 180 or not at all, Maybe a google bot tryed to scan your site and it was down? I dont know it sounds......Hmm ...did you check all 3 www servers? got to http://www.seochat.com/googledance/ type in your keyword tell me if you are in any of the results. BTW guys dont see any updates. Ahh another thing about if google bot scans you and you sites was down. it happened to one of my client when his server crashed for a week. IT takes around 3 times till google bots remove your site. 3 scans about a week. depends on your PR.
I also wrote it before I am sure google does not care about the PR it has no effect what so every if you cheat the PR even if you have a 3 X pr6 (Irrlevent) sites and you get a PR6 you won't be on top in googles SERP, if you don't have the right stuff. I don't pay any attention to the PR update as said before I had customers who go to #6 in the SERP without even having the first update.
oh no, it looks like something horrible has happened. Not only have I dropped to #175, showing zero backlinks, zero pages indexed, but also my PR is now showing as N/A (in firefox extension). McDar's tool is reporting a PR of 1, 0 links, 0 pages, and no latest cache. I'm assuming that he's using the API and so something might be going on with the API servers as I can see a cache date of 10/4 and there are still 256 pages indexed. I'm thoroughly confused as to what is going on. For a moment, this morning I thought google had completely dropped the site, now I'm not sure what on earth has happened. I seem to be getting differing results from different tools. I'm going to have to check through all outgoing links and make sure no ones added any to bad places - I doubt it bt it's possible. If anyone can come up with any ideas as to what is going on, please let me know.
hmmm, I don't know what G were playing at. I basically disappeared to #175 for a week, BL's numbers kept coming and going. I added a few more links with different anchors and the site is now back at #11 across all datacenters, BL's are still missing on some datacenters. But at least I'm back up in the SERPs.
Yes I heard about the Google+ and it is similar to the Facebook, and I hope it will become a best competitor for the Social Networking Sites. inhyderabadshop inhyderabadshop@gmail.com http://www.inhyderabadmall.com/Rakhi
