Should I write article on a topic or not............

I have an Pet-Health blog. For example I want to write article on "Think before getting a cat" topic.

But before writing I want to check whether this topic really searched by most peoples? Can this topic get the reasonable traffic from search engines? How to check it?

i think google adword can help you to find the current situation of your keywords. you can also search it by writing the same text in Google. see the results and then select your keywords which are less competitive.
