Hello, We own a brand new auction website and after looking threw posts on this forum, paying people to blog/post seems like a good idea....could anyone think of any other way i can promote www.auctionexpress.info ? There are plenty of auction discussion forums out there like the one at http://theauctionboard.com/ so provide useful information to others and include your link in your signature. I get a regular ebay auction newsletter and I'm sure there are many other newsletters out there that you might be able to advertise in. If your auction site provides something new or is for a particular niche you could try a press release to stir up some activity. If you charge fees, then why not provide a free trial period where people can sell their products without any commision. This gets sellers to signup knowing that it is risk free. This is especially important when your buyers are relatively few.

in your auctions, let people know the item is also available at ur auction site, and listed cheaper (if possible) this will make them sign up and bid for the item at ur site instead of ebay.
you are going to face the incredibly hard problem of chicken and egg, you need to have both buyers and sellers on at once, a large budget campaign getting users to the site by offering free auctions for a limited time with no fees is about the only feasible way i can see.
