Hi, Ok, I managed to successfully backorder and purchase an expiring PR7 domain with over 3000+ back links in google. I've also purchased phpLD 3.0.6 The question is ... what do I do with it? apart from submitting it to directory lists? There has to be something I can do to leverage off the fact that its a PR7 directory to drive tons of traffic to the site? Any suggestions, advice or help would be greatly appreciated? PM me for the domain name.
I think a good way would be advertising with adwords. Would cost quit a bit, but once it's known, it'll virally spread.
yep , add on your dir to all the directory of directories. will surely help also spread around in forums ,lot of buyers for pr7 dir link.
Wow,PR7? Congrats, dude I'd be interested ,please pm the domain. You should spend lots of money on advertising the directory now ,submit it to strong directories (like the ones in my signature, yahoo dir, ect.) Also here's a list of strongest dirs..
Dude, if you go over to ummm http://odditysoftware.com I think that's the url, you can buy huge data bases of stuff to fill up your directory. I have a cabinet site/company and I bought two huge home improvement databases from them for my directory, I have over 800,000 listings now. You will get good traffic the bigger the directory. It's usually not very well targeted traffic, but traffic none the less.
Hi, Because the domain name has the words "healthpromotionnetwork" included in it (yes the domain name is even longer than that), I was thinking of having it as a niche directory focusing on health the beauty websites ...... Would that be a good idea or would it be better to keep it as a general link directory?
What rehash has quoted here will be an ongoing problem that you would be best advised to check out, as PR7 is a lot to lose
To be totally honest I wouldn't use that domain for a directory. What I would probably have done (although it requires a bit of patience) is. Buy a nice domain for a directory and develop a new directory Put a page at the PR7 domain saying If the PR7 is strong it will pass most of it's PR to the new domain (probably making it a PR6) and you will have a nice and shiny pr6 directory on a nice domain. When the directory is established you can also 301 the original domain to the new one. Of course that involves a lot more time and a bit more risk, but the potential benefits imho are greater. Of course it's your decision and take everything I say with a grain of salt. Just my 2 eurocents
In fact, the man has sent me the url by pm ..But I did see only 1 or 2 backlinks in yahoo.. Probably that's a fake PR.
http://odditysoftware.com/download_databases/17_medical-health-data_1.html Look at those databases, you can fill your directory up with tons of listings.
Check out the backlinks in google .... I'm not saying the backlinks are going to stay, but use the tempoary PR to get lots of links to the site ASAP to keep at least some PR in the future...
Sorry to stray off topic a bit, but that was an awesome resource! Ironically I found something there for a completely different project and this was a perfect find - thanks!
