My question is about my current page getting almost 5000 "friends" and am curious if anyone has advice on what I now need to do or prepare for. Can I still approve the 350 pending friend requests no matter what, or is it going to stop at accepting the next 15 , since 5000 is the limit? I have a so-called "fan page" set up, but that doesn't seem to be getting much in the way of "likes" Any constructive criticism is appreciated.
I have a similar problem. I don't know what to do after 5000 friends. Did you try posting on your wall and asking your friends to like your page? You can put a link to a second profile and ask people to add you there. I have seen many guys do that.
5000 friend in FB Awesome. But how do you chat with them in a small window?? i have 450 friend but there is too difficult to chat with all bcz there i limited chat window. Any alternate option to do chat with all.
I met this problem lat month, one of my FB account had 4952 friends with 200 pendings. After I confirm all the 200 requests, the friends number still show 5000, so 5000 is the limit. If you want to change this account to a page, then the page will have 5000 fans, you can invite your friends to your page to increase the fans number.
Well I appreciate this feedback...and am still considering what to do. I have verified one thing: #1: 5000 is the limit. So, if I still have 350 or more pending, before I accept any of them....I wonder if I should mention my page here, on my current page and ask them to "LIKE" the other page....or send each of the 350 pending, a note about my "fan" page....FaceBook doesn't really offer much in tech help or suggestions, so I look at FaceBook as sort of a mish-mash of information and people. I was constandly getting put on groups which I hated, and I had to "block" certain settings. And like sachin410 says, I also don't have time to chat so I don't see any value in that new "multiple person" chatting feature. If anyone else has other thoughts or suggestions, feel free to make them.
you need to tease your fan page from your normal account on a regular basis like "i have moved, please join me over there'. yet if you collected your friends by playing a person, you will not get them to come over because they did not sign up for a page, but for a friend. hth Nicole
Nicole: What would be a good way to word the "teaser"? I was thinking: "I now have reached my limit of 5000 friends and moving all of my best cartoons that I have archived here, to my new page at http://www.facebook.com/CartoonsForLicensing so feel free to LIKE the page there - WARNING: sense of humor required!" Internal09: If I were to sell the page, I don't even know how much it's worth.
That'd be a good way to word the teaser. TBH the "Warning" part is redundant because if people want to be friends with you, they already know what you do and they like it. If you have an honest fanbase, you should have no trouble converting them all over to your page.
Thanks PBman1213! This just might work then. I'll edit that down and then probably just use that exact wording as a new post. Basically, I have not posted a single comment on my 4995 friends page since about June 15th or thereabouts....so, a new post that directly relates to what I am trying to do may grab and keep (and convince them!) their attention and make an indelible impression.
adiiforu: It is relatively easy to get 5000 friends....if you see my page in my signature, I have a FaceBook icon that takes the visitor to my page and I get friend requests from that. My site gets a gradual number of visitors each day and once in a while I go through my list of requests and accept them and send out my own requests to friends on their set of friends. If you have your own site, I urge you to get a FaceBook icon that links to your page. Also work at driving more visotrs to find your site and eventually your FB page.
My advice would be to tell all "friends" that if they want to follow your cartoons etc, they should "like" your page as opposed to adding you as a friend. Ask them to "unfriend" you as and when they do.
The best way for you to do is to create your 2nd account. I have friends that has been doing this strategy when their other account is flooded with friends whom she did not know.
I think this are potential leads for you to market to. You can either create a $7 product or if you have a cpa account advertise stuffs related to your product to them. You have a goldmine in your hand, make best use of them.
