you are telling that the idea of god sitting up a tree eating bananas etc etc i want to ask you have you ever saw your god pic or imagined pic ? I know you dont have any ans It seems you have born without knowin who is your father
Hinduism is about conserving the environment, animals and gender equality. Someone posted that they gave up the system of sati, there is no religious compulsion like some say it is there in islam. Hindu god krishna permitted polygamy during medieval ages by saying that,if a man has a liberty to marry five women then why shouldn't the same law be applied to women? For god both genders are equal. This is what my little indian friend told me, I am quite impressed
Hmmmm to some extent you are true Hinduism believes in equality of gender. But I don't like that to have 4-5 wifes I believe in only 1 why to share your love to some other person whether its man or women.
It's much much more, .... and a forum post is ridiculously not enough to explain all 'bout it if that's what someone is expecting of all the Hindus..
You really deserve this break. Try working out your ideas elsewhere for a while...will keep both you and others happy and relaxed...
look, this is how to approach hinduism. there are all sorts of religions in india, hinduism, sikhism, jainism. hinduism is about getting to nirvana or heaven as we wonder what it is. there are three primary Gods, vishnu, brahma and siva. there also other lesser Gods out there that are about helping a person getting the nirvana. i am skeptical about sikhism and jainism being different from the goals of hinduism and reaching nirvana but they are considered different religions from each other based on known definitions. has india's understanding of religion surpassed the common definitions of heaven bases on what we all know about religion now? in the pursuit of heaven i would not be surprised if this is something that was considered. perhaps hinduism surpassed common knowledge for heaven to respects to pursuit heaven?
if i was not in the lineage of being a converted christian from my grandmother's side of my mom and a converted christian from my father's side i would be a brahman in hinduism. but i am a born american citizen with christianity as an influence with these wondered influences.
I wouldn't say i "believe" in it. I'd instead say that the amount of evidence supporting it is so overwhelming that to conclude that natural selection and mutation isn't the explanation for the diversity of life would require a learning disability so monumental it would prohibit me from operating a computer. It's not really open to opinion in any way that gravitational theory, tide theory, the theory of relativity and knot theory would be. People don't get to disbelieve in evolution, just like they don't get to disbelieve in gravity, tides or knots. Why? Do you?
Yeah I do, to a great extend.. Now on the lighter note: If we are to take Evolution in serious consideration, we have to accept that Homo-sapience are evolved from Apes. So incidentally we are in fact a close relative to Chimpanzees.. I think Hindus related to this as a fact long before Darwin theorized it, and came up with Hanuman (Monkey god in your language, after all they were just showing the respect to our ancestors) .. Pretty scientific, if you look at it this way.. Not a laughing matter at all..
It's fairly obvious that we are at least very similar to other primates. Darwin wasn't even the first person to theorise that we were physically related to not only primates, but to all other organisms, he was just the first to offer an explanation of how that may have happened - which is the important part. I don't see how that gives credibility to a monkey god though, do you? Don't forget, this isn't a character in a work of fiction (according to them) - it's not a metafore explaining common ancestry - this is supposed to be a god that actually exists. This is supposed to be a monkey, which is a god, that actually exists. It's stupid and, yes, very much a laughing matter.
Not really, he isn't supposed to be a monkey God. Hindu scriptures doesn't associate Hanuman with monkeys per say, that's your own misinformed thinking (Or should I say ignorance?). According to Hindu scriptures, Hanuman was a Vanara, an Ape like humanoid. You are free to laugh on it, you can laugh that Hindus have an Ape like humanoid as a deity, but that way at least you'll be laughing informed.. Being an atheist myself, I don't believe that Hanuman as deity existed but it's very much possible that he existed as normal humanoid. people painted him as a deity later. Or may be it's just an story.
What an amazing argument. In 7 words you managed to offer nothing of any value and expose the fact that your understanding of evolution is comparable to a pigs understanding of pythagorus theorem.
At least you have heard about the Pythagoras theorem not bad for some one with the understanding of a primate keep trying at least you will reach the pig level.
