If you are doing ON-page SEO, you should better try to add fresh and quality content every day . Moreover you can read a lot about keyword research and analysis. As far as the basics of SEO are concerned you should understand and experiment different "Keyword densities" and know when your content looks like a "spammy content" . You can take care of images, write proper "ALTs" for them. You can learn how to create user and search engine friendly URLs. For Off-Page SEO you can focus on Blogging, Social Bookmarking,Press Release Submissions, Social Networking and Article Writing.
