I have a question. I have a WWE Divas website, and a myspace account promoting the site. Now for months I have been going through individual add requests to see if a profile had wrestling content, or keywords related to wrestling or the divas. If it did I would add a comment with a link to my site because it was relative to wrestling. If I add a comment with my link to a profile that has nothing to do with wrestling, would my website get penalized for receiving links from unrelevant myspace profiles? Or does it not matter? If it doesn't matter than I will accept add request from just about everyone, and leave a comment with a link to my site.
I really don't think it matters, but the links on pages with relevatnt content are worth more.. you can't help who lonks to you .. etc.. OT: Have you tried the other MySpace like pages? Lost Cherry is mah new favorite .. there's also OBC, Black Planet, Ryze.. lots n lots n lots of em ~LadyH
I don't think you understood what I was saying exactly. I can control who links to my site, because I'm the one posting a link to my site through comments I make on myspace profiles. My question was if my site would get penalized if there are links coming to my site from profiles that have no wrestling/relavent content on them.
I did answer that, but sometimes I ramble.. Basically, no. You wont get penalized, because the general opinion is that you cannot help who links to you.. we know that in your case you can.. but generally you can not. The only thing you should have to worry about is googles knowing what your site is about, since you are img linking (I do this alot myself) and not text linking, the content from the page that you comment on, is going to give google some idea what your site is about, and where to bring up your site in the search engines.. Make sence?
