In the past, I generally stuck with just one image per article. Now, I started adding more and more images (mainly in between big paragraphs to emphasize the particular topic of that section). I really like the way that extra images look. However, I'm curious to know if those additional images are beneficial towards SEO. Does it help? (I already know that it helps with the user experience because it's visually more appealing.)
There are many people who search for different images in the web. If the name of the images matches the search name, then your images will be displayed in different image search engines like Google image, Yahoo image search and more. This helps people come to your web site through an image search. This knowledge is based on my personal experience as in one of my music blog, 20% of visitors used to be from image search.
I understand that those images will show in Google Images. However, I'm just curious to know if their presence alone helps the actual SEO for the page.
Image have their own importance. These are such visual aids which help to users to search the actual search which is so near what they actually want to search.
Once again, I understand the value to Google Images. I just want to know if the additional media on the article is helpful with Google itself.
what you can do is check your bounce rate on the articles before you add the extra pictures and then check again after you have added the extra pic's if its reduced then it will be beneficial to your on page seo and google should start to rank you higher. Also remember to use your keyword in the alttext for your pictures. I personally only use one picture per article, only because its working for me. Cheers Michael
Hi I want to ask if putting alt tags on image will help to Rank your images on Search Engine images like google image etc. Thanks
I was doing that as well, but then I added more images, and it became visually more appealing to me. I tried to see if additional media was beneficial to SEO, but couldn't really find a proper answer. That's what led me to ask here.
Just think about the main topic or theme of your website, is it really necessary for you to add extra images? Think how your visitors will react to images? Analyse user behaviour as users like your content more or images ? Also if you want to continue including images in your content then be sure to use proper ALT tags for images so that it becomes easy to find your images in image search.
hi mysteryofmarketer, i will suggest that when you place any image make it keyword reach by adding the main keyword in the "alt" & "title" tag of the image. this will really beneficial for your seo because this helps you to add the keyword in the image and when people will search for images with the keyword they will land up in your website. kindest, abhishek
of course images help. here's a little greyhat trick: you can slightly resize the image (to 102% for example) and then add a few transparent watermarks to it. then tag it with a lot of relevant keywords (in ALT and TITLE elements). we've successfully used this to get lots of images indexed in G image search
Images are very important in SEO because you can use ALT tag and place your keyword in it. It will be easily crawl by the Google bot and images attract visitors.
