Is this a dead niche or is there still some room to be competitive? And I'm talking about an article site with 100% unique content not some crap duplicate content site.
If it's quality stuff and original, then sure.. Combine it with a little SEO and I dont see why you can't be competitive..
article websites have it pretty hard post-Panda update. even old and established ones like ezine have been hit pretty hard. I probably wouldn't want to start a new article site in this SE climate.
Try to add a small twist to the concept, and you should be fine, anyway we're not talking about becoming billionaires, are we?
you would be competitive if you have a constant supply of articles everyday that are searched based on the trends research, so if you succeed to do so then you can compete with old sites and make good money
