    i just wounder why facebook registered the domain "thefacebook.com" in 2004 while the core domain "faceook.com" already registered in the year 1997

    facebook.com was registered by someone else. It was purchased by facebook in 2005 for $200K (With the help and funding from Paypal co-founder Peter Thiel)
