LOL @ people saying poker is a bad hobby Also anyone in the US cannot play poker on pokerstars...or fulltilt...or UB for that matter. Although I quit 8 months ago, it's still a fun game to play. It improves problem solving and critical thinking skills (if you put in the time and effort into getting good). Not to mention your awareness pretty much skyrockets as well and you can effectively learn to read people spot on. Although if you are bad at poker (which is like 80% of players) they tend to think online poker is rigged and they are so unlucky and poker is a game of luck, heh.
Actually, poker isn't really gambling if you are somewhat intelligent, think logically, don't tilt easily, and good at reading your opponents. Thats the hard part, though. Being an overall good player is tough, no matter how intelligent you are. What you make in one month of grinding you can lose in one session of no limit holdem due to tilting, being intoxicated, etc. But there is a reason the same players consistently beat the game. It's a game of skill with an element of luck, but luck doesn't dictate whether you will be a long term winner/loser, it just has a bigger influence in the short term.
I used to, no more now. And poker is not that bad, compared to sport betting. You just need to be savvy player and you can win or even if you loose money, it's not a lot, if you're savvy. The one that looses a lot money is noob who doesn't know how to play poker.
why is an addiction unhealthy? plenty of people are addicted to sex or their work. i can think of many worse addictions.
haha every Romanian I'ved played against has been a huge fish, so I can't say I'm shocked by his comments
One thing I'll be honest about is that since there are no more US players, the games have been dumbed down. The flavor of the game has been lost and people win major pots with a 3 on the river now.
I snap withdrew after Black Friday. Was still possible for me to play on FTP where I had most of my funds, just had a bad feeling, which turned out to be right. I much prefer live poker nowadays anyway.
