    I have a website with 3 sub domains, whether i need to create different sitemap.xml or i can create single sitemap.xml

    You need to install plugins to your site so that it generates sitemaps automatically whenever you post new content.

    You can create a single sitemap but make sure it contains all urls of your 3 subdomains...Search engines only need the urls of your site..You can create different sitemaps for all subdomains or can go by creating a single sitemap.

    You dont need to create different sitemap for your subdomain
    Create single sitemap and do include your subdomain into sitemap.

    Sitemap is a page you can say that helps the search engines to navigate easily through your site. Its of 2 types: HTML and XML. HTML sitemaps help us to go through the site and XML sitemaps are for search engines. By submitting your sitemap to webmasters tool, now any updates made to your site will automatically known by search engines.

    For each sub domain you need a dedicated sitemap.xml. Each sub domain is treated as a different site by Google.

    A single sitemap with all the URLs of your sub domains will work quite well. Google and any other search engine only needs to know the URLs and the crawling is left upto them.
