no, you just made that up cause you dont know what youre talking about. The rule is you code to standards and use the most standards compliant browser to test your code and that browser is NEVER IE. You can never trust IE to do ANYTHING right!
anyone who thinks there aren't huge issues with IE and the modern web shouldn't be making comments in threads such as this.

I know exactly what I'm talking about. The only standard is W3C and to write semantic and proper markup which pass validation. If coder have not enough knowledge and using FF as his main reference than sure that he'll have problem even with simple IE tasks.

this because it is the default browser of windows, i have never heard of any person who is using Mac as operating system and using IE.
Basically IE is used by NOObs because they are not ready to try any new browser.
I am not saying that chrome is better or firefox is better but I must say that IE really sucks.
If you really want to know the flaws of IE then ask any website developer or website designer they have a long list of negative points for IE.

Have you written a single line of code in your entire life?

So than? It's doesn't matter why it's the most popular. Windows is most common used system out there, so there's nothing surprising in it.

And how many people using Safari under Windows? You wrote earlier that IE is used under windows "because it is the default browser of windows" - it's the same with Mac OS and Safari (which in fact is a great browser).

Who the hell is using internet? In 99% those are normal people which you call "noobs". Most of them is using web browser which is default in their system - what's wrong with it? Nothing. Developers have to adapt theirselve to reality and needs of such normal peoples - standard visitors of their websites. If IE is enough to them no one will force them to try something new.

I don't have to ask no one because I'm web developer myself. I never complained about IE flaws, because I could always pass them. If someone have lacks in knowledge and experience than sure he'll complain.

    See above.

    No you don't.
But you advocated using IE as your reference for how things work because it is popular but that is worse because IE does not follow the standard adequately.

Desktop OS. it's virtually absent everywhere else.
Absolutely false! Half of all internet users do NOT use IE. The other half mostly use FF and Chrome with only a smaller portion of that using Safari and Safari is the only browser that comes standard on any other OS.
Being able to workaround IEs flaws does not make them go away and does not reduce the headache and cost of force feeding hacks to make modern code work for IE. If you think web developers don't complain about IE, then you don't know any web developers.

IE is the best browser, to download an alternative one. That is my opinion about it. Its not dead yet, because its the default browser Microsoft force on their users. A large number use it by default, because for them its a hustle to search and download something else, not to mention the number of them who don't know how.

Sometime when I use it, I feel like why it was created. Its so slow, hangs a lot and you can't do your work without getting into some problem.

JavaScript is one word and totally unrelated to Java.

You should never use IE for javascript testing either since its implementation is years behind all modern browsers. Except if you are using it to test for IE's bugs.

Comparing to different web browsers, people decreased the use of Internet explorer and using more Firefox and Google chrome. Usage of Google chrome is now increasing day by day. People are more focusing on Google chrome. Currently Firefox is used by many.

And it makes me always laugh when people like you just saying coders can't write proper code.

Are you sure? Because it's just not true.

When we talk about example HTML5 let me notice IE has got the worst support.
Of course Chrome, Firefox and Safari can keep update their browsers to make the web smooth.

    Sum: IE failed.

This is my opinion if you can't agree with that just reply with your IE cons against Firefox, Chrome or Safari :)

Like most users, you are clueless as to the struggle web developers must go through to get code to work in IE. Code that works in every other browser but won't in IE.

IE is the worst browser on the planet. No one should be using any version of IE.

I second the last post ^^ IE is simply a rather bad browser, especially compared to what other browsers provide you with. The security is way too low and the functionality leaves a huge space for improvement. Funny enough, there are still many people who use IE on a regular basis and I actually wonder why do they risk so much when there's a higher standard of browsing avaiable at the reach of their hands.

Yeah IE is pain in ass but it's still alive and will keep it like that, the older generation keeps using it because they don't know about any other new browser or don't know what browser means. It's only pain in ass for coders because when creating a template you need to make it compatible with all browsers including IE which creates most of the problems. Hope this doesn't turn in another browser battle.

I used IE before, but I shifted to Chrome recently. It has some great features, so I use it.
