What is the difference between Google SEO and Yahoo SEO?
I am a new SEO,i spend much time to get back links to update my rank on Google but the rank on yahoo is down.

who can help me find the reason ?

 

Google doesn't pay much attention to meta tag descriptions and keywords, Yahoo takes both into consideration so you might want to take on page optimization serious on Yahoo site.

 

Google and Yahoo both have entirely different algorithm. Google gives more importance for back links while Yahoo loves content and text. In case of Yahoo if you have your meta details and content with enough keywords your site will rank well in Yahoo.

 

Yeah both are certainly different algorithm and i'm writing this because I want to share my thoughts on the question..

* Google's algorithm differs from Yahoo and Bing. Radically.
*Doing SEO for Google will not necessarily get you similar results for all other SE, as their algorithm differs so much
*Yahoo is no longer relevant, at least for the near future, as Yahoo will very soon use Bing as a search engine.

 

Yes, usually by SEO, people tend to by default optimize for Google alone, concentrating much on the back linking strategy and Google page ranks. But do not forget that there is a huge potential if you optimize your websites or blogs for yahoo as well. The main reason is that yahoo has a slightly different approach. The major differences between yahoo and Google bots ranking approach would be:

- Yahoo gives more priority to on page SEO
- Yahoo considers internal linking also as an factor for their “web rank”
- Keyword density is a critical factor for yahoo

To sumup, if you have a good navigational structure and excellent onpage factors, then there is more chances for you to rank higher on yahoo as well and get additional traffic to your website too.

Yahoo and Google have different algorithm!

 

You see, I always found it easier to classify sites in Google faster than any other search engine such as Yahoo. For example, take a look at my search engine statistics last week on my blog four months old.

There is no such thing as Google seo or Yahoo seo. SEO is SEO, regardless of the search engine.
Perhaps you mean that your site ranks differently in Google than it does in Yahoo. That is because they have different ranking systems and different search algorithms. And it is also because Google gives more importance to the quality and quantity of backlinks, while Yahoo relies more on a well done on-page optimization.
You should be happy and enjoy the fact that you rank high in Google. In my opinion it is slightly more important than the Yahoo ranking. But I guess you should probably work on the on-page optimization (design, keywords etc.) to improve your yahoo ranking as well.

Google and Yahoo look at a site differently due to the difference in their searching algorithms. Apart from a few differences they rank the site according to the priorities of the users and links coming back to the site.

 

Well there are many differences, but the main one is probably the on-page seo. Yahoo cares about it much more than Google. Google looks more into your link profile/popularity/recognition of your site.

 

Google and Yahoo these two search engines have different algorithm. Google gives priority to title, meta description, backlinks and content. Yahoo consider title, meta description, meta keywords and backlinks and content while ranking the site. But still Yahoo's algorithm fully don't know anyone.
