if you will buy a domain name. choose a lifetime free domain name together with the web host.
    and stick with .com

I only pay $41.88/year including hosting and domain name.

Hey, How is it possible? .co domains are costly and .com is cheaper than .co
If you have found .co at cheap rate then let me know.
    I'm from India also.

If the name you are looking for is a .co extension they I would purchase it, but if the .com is available then just go with that. Depending if you want to save some cash, then a .com would be the way to go

Shop around, you can get really cheap .co and .com all over the internet now days and like jackbird said, you can get a lot of hosting thrown in as well, I saw one the other day(can't remember the site... google it), which was offering a .com/ .co/ or .org with hosting FREE for 12 months and then only 0.90p GBP every month after that. You're not gonna get much cheaper than that.

    Bless!

I think either of them does not matter a least , but .co domains are kicked by google i think , so your traffic might be low and price difference also is not very high i think

this may be obvious, but make sure that you choose a domain name that includes your important keywords.

Personally I will suggest .com, don't really like .co.
If you are serious on your website, spend bait more and get .com

I read yesterday that Google purchased .co domains company. Doesn't that mean that they will have more power and strength? I would still go for a .com though. You know exactly where you stand with this. Make sure your website name is keyword rich too.

A quick search on Google returned an article on the Google webmaster forum saying that .co and .com were being treated equally. However Google did just buy the G.co domain for itself.

Stay away from the cheap co.cc domains. Google just dropped all 11 million of them from it's index siting spam problems with too many of them.

Most of the time you can find coupons for goDaddy registrations with a quick search. The last .com I bought cost me $7.49 for the year. Search "godaddy coupons"

    I would pick .com

    Hope this helps

One of the best suggestions is to ensure that you get the exact match domain, if the .com is gone, then try the .net, .org and then the .co

Actually there's no difference between .com and .co. You just need to know how to optimize your website for SEO.

If you can't get the .com you can always try the exact domain you want with hyphens

Get a .COM domain, its a much better, more SEO friendly solution. You don't have to pay as much for a domain name though, try registering one from NameCheap.

If the .com is gone you can always try the .com with hyphens i.e your-keywords dot com
