Seems the latest PR update has reverted, at least on my sites as wel as DP forum. More than likely a temporary thing, but you never know.

I read this post earlier, and my toolbar showed the new PR. I checked out http://oy-oy.eu/google/pr/ and counted 6 d/c's with old PR. Now, my toolbar is showing old PR, and oy-oy.eu shows only 5 d/c's with those numbers.

The data seems to be jumping around quite a bit today. Probably temporary, since the number of d/c's went down... but it bothers me that the update has not yet completed.

Yeah this has been the longest, most drawn out update that I can remember!

Behind the veil PR updates are constant. The visible PR that you and I see is only a 'snapshot' that Google exports on a roughly scheduled quarterly basis.

Do not be concerned about the distribution of this most recent PR update. The data centers know what is really going on or there would be two distinct sets of SERPs 27/7.

The reason for the visible PR disparity, as frequently mentioned, is that Google is upgrading their data centers. The data centers that have been upgraded show the latest PR snapshot while the ones that have not been upgraded show the old PR snapshot.

Yes this distribution seems to be taking longer than others; there could be several reasons for this. For example, if they are installing new hardware into all their thousands of data center computers....well, people can only move so fast.

To reiterate though, do not worry about the visible PR. Just use the most recent PR snapshot as your baseline and work from there.

Actually I don't think they do, I track my positions carefully and know that sometimes all the DCs revert to old data, sometimes 6 months older or more. It is a temporary thing, usually corrects within 24 hours, but happens nevertheless.

When I posted this thread not only did my PR revert to old data, so did googles cache of my site as well as many others.

Yes the toolbar was showing old PR as well as most datacenters were showing old caches of several sites I checked. This seems to be happening more and more often lately, but does correct itself in 12 - 24 hours.

It was on all DCs, but like I said, only lasts 12 - 24 hours. What seems to be happening is before every change G goes to an old cache of data. I have seen this rollback three times in the last 3 weeks.
