Digital Point is now nofollow!

The fact that Digital Point has finally realised that they are leaking equity all over the place is not a huge problem for those of you that actually link build for your site, the links are still considered as backlinks just they fail to pass equity.

If you site is based on the links that you generate on your signature then your SEO is weak in the first place.

Who cares do you really think the sig links from DP would make any difference to your rankings anyway?

Atleast it should cut down the amount of spam on the forums which has got totally out of control in the last few years, seems the place is full of people with nothing of much use to say and just posting for the sake of it to raise their post count.

DP is a great resource for getting help aswell as buying, selling and trading and thats what matters, I would not be bothered even if there was no sig links at all to be honest.

 

This forum has earned a quality name and there is no chance that the reputation is under threat.

DP is a nice resource for everyone. Have nofollow signature links definitely should not affect its popularity.

 

I've been a digital point lurker for years and always been put off by the amount of nonense threads and comments that are soley there for the purpose of a backlink. Definately a better way to improve the forum and remove some chaff.

 

Reduce its popularity? Good lord, the popularity is already down on its knees and not because of the dofollow or nofollow links but because of all the scammers, dishonest and stupid thread peoples are opening. Digital point used to be THE webmasters forum, now it's like reading all those "skibiri dibiri doo" kind of posts.

There have been arguments around the ratio of nofollow/dofollow links for some time. Do you honestly think that Google doesn't check the ratio and look for things being a little more natural? I'm sure if you have all dofollow links, it would raise an eyebrow.

This is no big news about DP. It will result in a drop in popularity (IMHO) but it only means something else will come up and the cycle will start over again.

If you're relying on this place to be a wealth of links, you've got bigger problems because you're linking strategy is flawed in a big way.

Noffolow no mather what some "experts" say HELP Rankings ... only noobs and "experts" belive otherwise ...

a very bad news for seos but good news for other because now they will get only quality posts not time consuming unrelated promotional pasts.
