Simply put im creating a website. The main site and everything is good. I believe it is HTML. Now what I wanna know how to do is install wordpress on ONLY a subdomain and have it not effect anything else on the site. I want to install it only on the subdomain, how do I go about doin that?

    Thanks in advance!

Do you have cPanel or other control panel?
    The process is quite simple:
    You create your subdomain
You Install wordpress in the subdomain folder!

No, this won't affect the rest of the site.
As for the .htaccess, I usually recommend you use chmod for directory permissions and not this file

I find easiest way to load wordpress is to make a dir in the root of yer ftp directory then log into fantastico using cPanel and install wordpress into that dir from there. :)
