This is an alert to all article writers - Please do no post you email or contact information in your thread where you are advertising about your service. There are scammers around who are fetching for these emails. This is what they do: They send email to all article writers - they are looking for a long terms article writer who can write around 100 articles per month but to qualify for this job, the article writer needs to provide around 3-4 unique articles on the topics they suggest.(these are DP members but they send you an email directly so that there is no exchange of Itrader as you dont know his DP username). When the articles are sent to them they run away with them and never respond back. At the end of the day they get 3-4 articles from 50 different writers they emailed to. Then they some back on DP and sell them for cheap via the Content Section. This happened to some of my friends and we got know about the scam because they all recieved the same email and the same replies. I am alerting others, if you recieve these kind of emails then make sure they show you their DP profile or may be make an upfront payment. (Sorry for the grammer as english is not my first language)
Good job buddy! ..it will help lots of writers on dp. And according to my suggestion if you get work on email ( without any pm ) Just tell them to send same work via pm on dp. On this way all can save themselves from any scam. Hope it will help. Regards
I received this kind of email(s) for article writing as well. Since then I only read PMs and don't post my email.
Even the samples of 300 words each from some 20 writers can get you a handsome amount. Move on smartly with the dealings.
I agree. Its my pleasure, please also alert others as this thread will be soon on the 3 or 4th page and no one will be bothered about it
Why would anybody in their right mind do this anyway? What kind of gig were they offering, $1+ per word? Yanno what? Perhaps, at that rate - maybe, just maybe you should be forthcoming with some samples. But as a rule? It's insane. If anyone is stupid enough to jump through this kind of hoop for asinine offers of a penny (or less) per word, they need to be taken advantage of. And often.
Yeah but you technically do own the rights over the unpaid articles. If you find them anywhere on the web you can issue DMCA's. Just sayin' ...
but do you really think that any actions are taken? I am saying this because I do get 1 out of 10 clients, who takes the content from me and goes without paying me.
Well I believe you weren't talking about the "1 in 10" customers you got from DP. With 17 posts I hardly assume you had any.
Thanks for the warning my friend. I am new to this forum and it is very helpful for me. I guess I should be more careful.
lolzzz!! i joined in the year 2009 but during that time the writing rates were pathetic. I guess, it has improved a bit these days and thus I am here for business again. I was just sharing my experience that i had with my clients, outside DP. No hard feelings, mate!!
Thanks a lot for the information OP. However, I don't think one needs to send samples that are unique, irrespective of the rate they have to offer! Sending articles that are already written is fine. Not only that, there's no need to respond to such mails ...It's good to ask how they got the information .. etc ... Sending articles that are written already is enough to judge a person I guess ... though when it's a reputed member .. sending samples on a topic of their choice can be considered. Just an opinion!
Can you share the email addresses of the people who are scamming others the way you have mentioned in your post?
