Why Buy Signature link? What is the benefit?

I am surprise that, there are user selling signature links. What is the benefit? Is this a best shortcut to create link building?

Signature links can be used to create in-bound links to your website. This improves the visibility of your site and therefore more visitors and hopefully more earnings. Having your link in a signature of a well-known or active forum posters greatly improves the visibility of your site more than a poster who did not post as much. I wouldn't say that it was a 'shortcut' to link building, but it can be beneficial in tandem with your other marketing methods.

actually I am a bit doubt on those signature link, if I change the signature link, how effective for search engine to index all post? Those web master who can selling the signature link, those post could be not quality, as they will more focus on quatity post rather than quality post. Do you think it will still generate good traffic to a site? In addition do people really click the signature link?

According to my experience, DP indexing rate is very high, the index rate is more than 70%, you might try on your signature. You can actually check the member profile, read their post before deal with them if you are worry about the quality of the post.

Thanks for the great answer, I agree with you DP forum have a good quality control over the spamming. After a while make post, I like DP forum, as the information and comment from user is useful and accurate. I will try to change my signature and test out the index rate....^_^

Forget it. I just figured it out. Duh.

 

Apparently, the signature link does not populate to all of your OLD posts, but does populate to all NEW posts once you set up your sig. I apparently missed out on hundreds of links.

What is the going rate if I wanted to buy someone's sig space? I don't know what the value would be since the links would not seem to populate to all of their previous posts.
