This definitely does not mean the end of fake itraders or whatever you call the new point system. I can already think of a few good ways to overcome this to be honest...

If you explain what you mean, maybe Shawn can think of stuff to prevent that too ;)

altough im not longer active in these forums i think that old members who helped build this forum and do business here on bst based on itrader system would be offended if it will be suddently dropped off, maybe built a system where 1 new real pay itrader will replace 1 old itrader and so that wont be affected and everyone would be happy.

The transition is a very slow one and has been going on for a long time. This thread feels like it had been up for a year.

Just found out about this, and have a quick 2 questions....

If [WTB] threads can't use this new system to get a point added to their itrader score because they are not selling anything, but instead buying something....

    • 1. Why can't your new system see that an itrader score request was placed by the seller for this purchase transaction, and the [WTB] member just replys to the sellers
request for an itrader review from the buyer?
That way, both the trader participants get 1 point for their itraders, and nothing can be faked? If your new itrader system does the scoring automatically so no itrader
request has to be sent then program it to automatically add 1 point to the buyers itrader score when the seller gets theirs. If the sellers trade was positive then so was
    the buyers. Right?

    • Will this new system allow us to earn 1 point from each trade made no matter how many trades are made with the same member previously, or will members be limited like
they are now to only earning 1 point per first trade, and nothing for subsequent trades made with the current system if the seller/buyer has been traded with before?

I recently found out from a DP moderator that the current itrader system doesn't allow you to earn more than 1 point from an itrader Deal thread trade even if you do
more than 1 trade with the same DP member. This means you only get 1 point even though you did 7 trades with the other member.

The current system doesn't allow you to earn a TRUE itrader score because your current score may not reflect the actual number of positive trades you've made
if you've made more than 1 trade with the same DP member.

    For example:

You may have 100 good trades with them, but only earned 1 point with them because the itrader system doesn't count the other 99 positive trades you've done.

Please let us all know how the new system will work, and if WTB members can be accommodated with my idea of getting 1 point given to them when the seller gets his
    one positive point.

    Thanks,

    Entrepreneur45

Internally it already tracks the score for sellers. It's just not (yet) displayed.

I'm sure this issue has already been brought up, I haven't used the instant pay primarily because I often provide services where I have to give individual quotes per project. I suppose I could put packages together, but it's a lot bigger hassle for both the buyer and myself as the seller to ensure I both provide what they are expecting and I completely understand what is expected prior to a transaction being made.

I have a related question: I bought something from a seller a while back and gave him a positive feedback and itrader. However the product was deliberately handicapped, stopped working in the long run and seller simply washed his hands off it saying he has no time for it anymore despite having asking him to remove the handicap. How do I proceed to retract positive feedback and give negative feedback instead so that it serves as a caution for future buyers?

You cant. You should not have given the positive itraders before using it completely.

    @digitalpoint

Thats cool , some ppl when they just see you selling more than him he give you anegative feedback like the -1 i got from a member who was trashing my threads and he got banned then he signed up anew account and gave me and my friend anegative feedback , also he was making multiple accounts then reaching the limit of feedback then giving him self a positive feedback , i really hope that would be removed and put your new system but you should add other payment methods like alertpay , moneybookers , LR bec Some ppl doesnt have paypal supporting their countries

Also i hope you look at the report i sent for my negative Itrader bec it was fake , he is saying that i scammed his $900 , and btw his old acc name was moondaerela

He stated above that he will leave the Itrade Rating for a little bit to show as a legacy, until you get feedback on your new itrader. So basically, you will have your current Itrader number somewhere on your profile until you get some feedback on your new itrader.

EDIT: by the way, great idea shawn. This will be a lot more accurate for feedback and plus it will leave all those scammers in the dark.

No, first they are going to make then moderators and then wipe their bad reputation clean. lol, just kidding.

That is a very good question. I always wanted to ask myself on the opposite end. I'm nearing 100itraders %100 positive. It would be nice it at least everyone who has say 50+ 100% positive itraders still can hold some type of reputation. Its taken years to build that up.

I'd say it's fairly safe to say that if a scammer has a massive amount of negative iTrader, they tend to end up banned for other things. And the ones that don't usually would abandon their account because of all the negative feedback anyway.

The new system knows all sorts of interesting things about both the buyer and the seller. For example if someone got a bunch of negative and then came back under a duplicate account, they would never be able to do a transaction because we know the internal PayPal ID of both the buyer and the seller's account involved in the transaction (doesn't matter if they change their PayPal email... the internal ID does not change).

The whole reason people were given such a massive amount of time on iTrader going away is so they could start earning feedback under the new system. It's been about a year and a half now that people can get both iTrader *and* an Instant Pay rating for a single transaction.

I always ask buyer to enable instant pay for payment of an auction item. and I also enable mine. But recently I made several deals where multiple items were listed and the sale was not auction style, which clearly means Instant Pay can not be enabled for them.
Almost 75% of my transactions in last 1 month were (forced to be) not instant pay.
