The reason i ask this, i recently purcashed a link from pr8 newpaper, now didn't realise that there are around 32,000 pages!! - my serps did change in a positive manner, my site is around 4 years old, and really only this year have we started a link campaign.

The company doing our SEO work, said ... slow down with the link building, and no more sitewides? - i did ask why and they said your site can go to the sandbox ... now i just had another good deal for high pr link ;) , again this is sitewide with another 64,000 pages - should i go for it?

Yes, but ask them if you can get them to put 30 links per week to slowly gain them until all done. You do not want your site sandboxed. So try to avoid that by all means.

By the way. You were going to use my services at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=165878

    You still want this?

IMO there is a good chance of that getting to many sitewide links could hurt you. Google are getting better each day in figuring out which links isn't natural.

We recently saw this happening with one of out site.

My advice would be to rather try and get one or two link on that site.

Yeah thanks i think i'm gonna steer clear, as they can only do sitewide? - even if i pay the full amount, they are unable to add my link to just a few pages?

    Overseas,

You can definitely trip a penalty filter for acquiring that many links that fast; however, if you are not looking for increased SERP placement or higher PR and just want referral traffic - then go for it! Nevertheless, Google does watch to see the consistent link building to relevant content......

Additionally, if you are in the market for link building services, I can offer my companies expertise. Check out my sig tag for our website.

Good luck in your future ventures!

I don't think that it will hurt your rankings at google.

    For example look these listings:
    http://www.google.com/search?&q=link%3Awww.epromos.com&btnG=Suche
    http://www.google.com/search?&q=link%3Awww.promopeddler.com&btnG=Suche
    http://www.google.com/search?&q=link%3Awww.branders.com&btnG=Suche

They have thousands of bought links from websites of Jupitermedia and they all rank in the top 5 of big keywords

If you have enough money you can buy these links. The last time I asked they wanted $5000 per month :D

Perhaps google can davalue these links in the future but not at the moment.

I think you have to look at it in combination with the amount of pages indexed by google.

If you take the first site (epromos.com) it has 16 500 links in google and 381,000 pages index.

If say they had 500 pages and they got 10 000 links in a few days time, I think G will defiantly penalize them.

You have to look at number of links to pages index ratio.
