Prime Minister David Cameron has delivered a statement to the House of Commons on the phone hacking scandal and the upcoming public inquiry. http://www.number10.gov.uk/news/pm-statement-on-phone-hacking/ Personally I think it's good that they are trying to do something about it. I am concerned about the power of such a large organisation like News swallowing up the little guys and making it harder for others to have an opposing view. For Mr Cameron to admit they're all hand in glove is a step in the right direction IMHO and I for one applaud him and hope it all comes out. Plus, surely it's best it's sorted out now before investors got ripped on the BSkyB deal, which involves a lot more money. ie: now he's lost 20% of news price but BskyB is worth much more so more investors woulda lost more money if it all came out after the deal was done. What do you think about News Ltd journalist's tactics, do you think it goes on in every country? Will this bring down the mighty News Ltd network?
The real problem with this scandal is that their is nobody left to do a proper investigation. Every where you look people are compromised.
It now seems that Andy Coulson was still getting paid by News International whilst he was working for the government (even though the Conservatives specifically denied this). Still a lot to find out about this whole thing.
How true. Its no different in the US. Obama admin rolls in, the investigations of the Bush admin start. Congress changes over to the Republicans, the investigations of the Democrats start. One thing you never see is self policing, but witch hunts are all too common.
