Can AdWord Account Be Deleted ?

I am asking because, I need to create one AdWord account, then delete it, and then create a longterm account.

As one can not have more than one AdWord account, with same URL/ website for getting traffic, so I need to delete the 1st and stay longer with 2nd AdWords account.

You can't delete the account, but you can delete the ad groups in your old account. This won't cause any problems with your 2nd account. The worst thing that happens when you have duplicate accounts is that your accounts are "linked" and only ads from one account are shown. If you delete the adgroups in your old account this won't even be a problem.

Why you want to create another account?

You don't need to delete the first account as you may need to access stat data from the first account- you will not violate TOS if you don't run both at the same time.

To delete the account contact AdWords support and they will deactivate the account for you.

To migrate the account is recommended to ask support to perform the migration to keep you quality Score from the source account as only AdWords staff can perform this kind of operation.

    Here how it works:

    Go to
My Account - Account Preferences - Login Information "edit in Google Accounts" - My Services "edit"

There you can delete the account;).

This procedure will close all your Google Account and will not close your AdWords account, Mr two-post-Banned.

Was he banned for that? Not a little bit harsh - he may have thought that was how to do it?

    no, I don't think so.

is hard to know why someone is banned as the posts/signature that motivate his ban are always deleted.

Please play it safely. Just send an email to google and they will do it for you. Never create multiple accounts. Sure way to get banned from adwords.

Are you familiar with the AdWords Multiple Accounts Policy?

It depend on of if your sites are different business and using different keywords. So I would ask you why are you using multiple accounts to host these campaigns.

Best to setup a professional adwords user account, then you can manage multiple adwords accounts under the one login.

Plus this way, all your spending for each business is totalled & when you spend a grand+ in under a months time, you can get verified etc.

    Is not a permission problem.

There is no tool/feature to delete an account, you need to request them to delete for you.

Google's very nature is to retain all data (not to mention the countless financial reasons). Nothing is ever truly deleted with Google.
