i had a big doubt/confused about directory submission sites and i know most of all will have if they think very deeply about directory sites. for ex,i am submitting a site to www.dmoz.org which has pr-9 then, when i get approved.that means,i created a backlink. my doubt is,Is that created backlink will have 9 PR? i don't think so,as the home has 9 PR and not the inner pages. so according to inner pages of Dmoz where my link is approved,i will get PR of that page?Is it right please provide me with your opinion. thanks
You will get the benefit only from the PR on which page your site is listed. If the page on which your link is listed then having 0 PR then you will get the profit of 0 PR not for the 9 pr.
thanks you everyone for giving suggestion. so,we should always do link building as it is on the homepage and we get the PR of that homepage of a website. thank you everyone
We always take the PR of home page and not the inner pages of website. when we submit our link in any directory ,and, after approval what PR we are going to get, can not be decided from the submission into that directory. the point to b considered is if we submit to directories having high PR, we r going to have a better PR for our submitted site. ex: DIRECTORY VMOPTIONS and DIRECTORY CRITIC have options to sort with high PR and continuously updated!!!!!
How I can submit my site to dmoz I have tried many times but its not accepting the site. I dunno whats wrong with Dmoz, I am unsure whether they have editors with them or not to review a website.
Just not sure about this. I feel that I got better results with a lot fewer listings in higher PR directories regardless of category PR than I got in ten times the listings in low PR directories. No proof, just a feeling.
To say you get no juice back from a PR8 main landing page if the inner page is 0 is not strictly true. There are a few variables to consider. If you are just one page away from the main landing page and there are only a few outbound links on the landing page sharing that page rank you will almost certainly get a lot of juice from it. If however you are 10 pages away that juice is divided by ten and then divided up again by the combined number of backlinks between the landing page and your page. So a page 0 page can be almost worthless or extremely good depending on these factors and others
Before any other benefit, the link needs to be found (picked up) by the search engines, without this happening pr passed on from it and which category you are listed in wont matter.
dmoz has 9pr site and if ur link is posted in 0pr.. thn u get benifit of 0pr but some where u also get a benefit of high pr site 2..
No, the home page will retain a PR of 9 but it is diluted down when you reach the specific category page. Anyway you will then be able to share the PR of that site and eventually you will see a rise in the PR of your own site as well.
You will only get the sub page PR. Beware, some of the directory links is not follow, it not passed any PR juice to you page.
Brother Actually everyone here is right but being owner of directories and 5 years experience in SEO i can say that yes you wont get that much benefit from the PR0 page but if the site is having high pr it means it is quality site and google loves it , so obviously you being on the pr0 page of it will get the SERPS benefit as well as it will help you index your site quickly which is the main aim...
I had submitted my site to vmoptions directory list and what i got is pr 2 .But the same page has many websites with pr 5 and 8.So how my site was analysed and given pr 2 while actually it is having pr 4 ??? I think pr is not according to category or page. Each page consist of different pr listed websites .
( Each page consist of different pr listed websites ) Thats true but still the category PR is the one. and the home page PR To submit in category PR 4 you will not take the same PR only part from it.
