Hello all, I have been searching this forum for an information about this issue. I can't find a advertiser that's will accept this. The only option I get in order to start a campaign is "Get HTML CODE" which obversely will not work since I ain't got a site. Please advice.
um yeah...when the html code is given to you, look for the <a href="url here"> and use that in adwords.
From the "Get HTML CODE" box you can get the URL of the landing page. This URL you can use in your adwords campaign
I know but I pressing on the get url button I'm getting the Error: An active Web site is required to use the Get HTML functionality. Please create a new Web site under the Account tab and try again.
I guess so, but It wouldn't be a problem if I'm sending traffic from adwords and not from my "so called blog". Also, I used the Get HTML option and extract the a href= like you guide me. i visit my affiliate URL (even using a proxy) And still the report stays the same "Clicks=0".
Is your account set up for search engine marketing? If so you should be clicking on the "keword link" to get the proper html.
Yes, my account set up for search engine marketing. The problem is that's I tested a few link but I can't see them on my Advertisers reports.
I think I understand my problem even though I set my site to a "Search Engine Marketing" Mode. Still, the CJ system only count clicks that's come for my site (the free blog URL) and not for other locations. Any ideas?
I had the same problem with a merchant that was working well in terms of click conversion. They didn't seem to accept clicks coming from adwords, so I decided to build a landing page for this merchant.
You can just go and try to set up an AdWords ad with minimum CPC bids, just to get a click straight from a google search and see whether it appears in the reports, you can even click on your own ad, spending nothing more then some 1-5 cents per click using some obscure keyword with no competition that only you search for just to test this... You might also want to erase cookies, temp internet files, etc... before clicking on your URLs because sometimes it might not count returning visits thru affiliate links. I'd say that thru google it's the most reliable way to check your reporting, and if it won't get going well then just contact CJ with this exact question, in my experience, their customer support is great! I know it's not allowed here but I'm sure it'll be ok so we can help you out, so if you'd like then please post an affiliate link of yours here (encrypt it if you want) so we can click on it and you'll then check whether or not there were clicks reported in CJ, and also it'll let us to check whether you're taking the right part of the code or not... I hope that helps somehow. Good Luck.
