    Damn straight sarathy.

And Chilium, I have read parts of the BOM but I was simply perplexed by the fantasy of it all. It's illogical and it is full of holes. Take time to read those links I gave you for one minute without being so quick to rubbish it - Take of your blindfold for a while, and you'll see it's as good as proven to be fakery.

Take the fact that you believe Native Americans are decendents of Jerusalem. The Chairman of LDS and Ph.D of Anthropology proved, to his own misfortune, that they are in fact Asian. A lot of the BoM is based around this false analogy of history - So how are you going to argue against that? Give the usual, "Oh but God made them so.."

Too bad, once again you fail to back up your statements with actual facts. Apart from the whole native american decendant thing, what holes are in the BoM? It is incredibly well written and incredibly accurate... especially since an 18 year old boy with a 2nd grade education "wrote" it.

Sounds about as accurate as the Quran, that an illiterate wrote .
Maybe you should study the teachings of Islam, seems like you have more in common with Muslims than Christians.

Read all of the accusations I gave you, they are all backed up with facts. And that native American thing just about destroys your religion mate.

Yep that's right, "wrote it", complete BS.

If its complete bs how did someone with a 2nd grade education write it... because he translated the plates by the power of God, thats how. If you don't beleve it, you dont have to be here. Id rather not argue with someone that has no idea what they are talking about. Go read the book and then come back and tell me what you think, until then, im done with this thread.

    I am curious.

How the hell does anybody know anything spoken of in this thread?

This is one of my many issues with religion. We speak with such authority on subjects that emanate from our brain. Whether atheist, as I am, pronouncing "there is no god," Mormon, pronouncing "the Plates of Moronai are authentic," non-Mormon Christian, pronouncing "heresy" on those same plates, or Muslim, "the Q'aran is The Word of God" - we are all aware, are we not, these thoughts emanate from our brain, and there is no empirical proof anywhere, correct? Given that, how can anybody be so smug as to assume a position of authority on anything spoken of in this thread?

I rather like the "light under a bushel" thing. Let your life be the shining example. When you pray, pray in a darkened closet. Follow your life, allow others to do the same, and sit in judgment of no one.

Brum, you are quick to judge on this topic, while adjuring others to be slow to judge. Growth spurt? Why the change of philosophy?

You make a good point. It is what we believe that matters. I believe the BoM to be correct, none of the rest of you do. Some of you believe in God, some don't. You have the right to believe what you want, and same with me. There is no point arguing with someone of another faith about it because it is pointless bickering. Neither side will be willing to meet in the middle. In some people's cases they lose all sort of respect and dignity by resorting to using personal and verbal attacks such as calling the BoM "BS"

This, I am guessing, is in keeping with Christ's message? Can you point me to the passage in your Bible?

Northpointaiki, it's because I've done a lot of research, there's no change in philosophy. I've simply read a lot of information on Mormonism.

That's what I'm talking about! Man, you're so far gone. He didn't write it. Do you have proof this guy existed? Do you have proof he had only a "2nd grade" education?

They also seal marriages for all eternity. All religion - it's all nonsense in my opinion and I couldn't care less what they believe. I simply refrain from judging them as I've got enough to work on.

LOL wow... now you are trying to say he didnt even exist... ok ok all the hundreds of history books and historical documents are all false and the government is lying to you if you get the records of his serving in the city council and as mayor of Nauvoo. You are right, hundreds of millions of people are wrong... thats a great attitude you have, and proves even more that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about

Not sure where calling someone's personal beliefs "complete BS" fits within the world of "civilized debate." The same quest for balance you asked for when looking at Menj1980's refusal to answer to Taliban atrocities, I find lacking here, that's all.

You were using an arguement that "that many people can't be wrong" .... I just showed you how wrong that arguement is, thats all ;)

But it was as if saying that Hitler didnt exist. Hundreds of millions know for a fact he exists. If one lunatic says he didnt, he is obviously wrong. Same with Joseph Smith. (Im not trying to compare JS and Hiter btw, lol)
