Can you give me your answers why web designers hate Internet Explorer? Let's number our answer. I'll start. 1. I hate IE because it loads slow. 2. I hate IE because it doesn't support HTML5 (generally)
IE9 really isn't that bad, but 8 and below are a pain to code for. Their UIs are also ugly lol Speaking of ugly UIs, anyone remember IE3's swooshy lines?
I hate internet explorer because every update fixes on thing and cause four new problems. I hate internet explorer because its proxy settings are a joke I hate internet explorer because its made by microsoft... crap time for a new thread
I hate it because it's the one browser that won't do what I want it to do when I'm doing a design and all the other random misc issues I have had over the past years.
Most amateurs complain that IE is slow or buggy or some other nonsense. The real complaint should be strictly technical. IE has been up to 13 years behind all other browsers in modern standards and practices. Currently, IE9 is 3 years behind all others in things it supports and does not support many others. IE10, currently in beta, is already at least a year behind Firefox5 but IE10 won't be out for another year! For another good list of how bad IE9 is, see my link below. Microsoft recently vowed not to support WebGL, which is supported by all other browsers and a contender for the 'next big thing'. IE always holds back the web. No one should ever use IE.
Even IE 9 and IE 10 are better browsers there are still users of IE 8,7, and forgive me 6. As long as there is IE in this world there is no peace on Web Design World
It is not standards compliant (not sure how well ie9 works for developing as that has caused my pc to crash...another reason not to love it). Workarounds are required...IE should not be quite that special!
3. In a small network of about 20 computers the 2 viruses that were caught originated on computers where IE was used. The majority of the computers were using Firefox. 4. Useful features (vs bling) typically are available on non-iE browsers first. 5. Websites that use non-standard html suck. Non-standard html almost always means IE. Therefore IE sucks.
IE takes too long to start up, it has unnecessary toolbars, it make some websites look weird, it takes to long to load, it open stuff in new windows instead of tabs, its just all bad. Chrome is the best
I hate it because every time I get something to look proper in Chrome, Firefox, Oper and Safari, I have to pray to the html gods that nothing is wrong in ie8/7/6 and now sometimes 9 before I open it up to check cross browser compatibility.
IE6 and IE7 can be quite tiresome to work with from a coding standpoint, however IE8 and IE9 have improved dramatically since then (that's not to say they're both up to standard, they have just improved from what they once were). I can see no reason to switch back to IE9 from Chrome or Firefox which are both superior.
