Website or Blogs?

I have a main site that is a portal to all my blogs, but I'm not satisfied with the way it is performing. It's relatively new, but still, it seems I get more traffic to the individual blogs than the main site. I want to brand myself with the main site. I'll be moving these blogs to a hosted site with Wordpress soon. Three of the blogs have domain names. I really think I should leave the gardening blog as is, as it is the one doing the best.

Should I consolidate all the other blogs into one and just have sections; ie Health, Frugal, Green, Computers, Internet, etc. or leave it as it is with all the blogs and the main site just as a portal? I put a nav bar across the top of the main blog, but haven't filled it in yet. Thinking of taking it off because I can't really use it the way it is set up now, but it gives you an idea of what I have in mind.

I really want this to be more professional, thus the move to a host and Wordpress. Please tell me what you think. Can't post links yet, but the website is named Simply Deb and it's dot com.

Base on my experience, stay focus at one website at the time is the best way to improve traffic and earnings. There are a lot of thing to do enough with one website. Leave the rest at it be, and update them when you have time.

So you're saying I should consolidate all the blogs under one site?

Your blogs are not of a similar industry like Health, Frugal, Green, Computers, Internet, etc. So I think its better to run them on individual domain instead of running on a single domain/site with categories.

For main portal/company site you can plan something similar to:
    http://tutsplus.com/
    http://envato.com/

That's exactly what I was thinking of! The only thing that ties them together is me, so the main site will just showcase all the individual blogs. Thanks! Those sites are awesome, and just what I was looking for. If I do it like that, in time, I can have other blogs on topics I can't cover join the site too. Awesome!

I will still use the blogs, because like you said...much easier. The main site is a blog now. I just need to find a way to showcase the other blogs on the front page of the main one. I may be able to find a template that will work. Maybe a one column template, and just put linked banners to each blog. I'll work on that one. It will have to have some way to update it, though, because otherwise, Google won't crawl it. I'll figure it out.
