    I can only recommend: godaddy.com, linode.com (vps only)
    godaddy VPS is cheaper than linode but I personally never use vps from godaddy so I don't know the quality, I got deluxe shared hosting with them, the're good. My vps is in linode, good customer support, help files for linux is complete at their site, excellent uptime. I'm thinking for godaddy vps too now, it's cheaper than linode if pay for 2years

    To be honest, Godaddy and Linode should never appear in the same sentence, when it comes to hosting. Godaddy is a great domain registrar who hardly makes it as a mediocre-at-best host. Linode is a superb VPS company that does nothing but sell VPSs, and they are very good at it. There is no comparison at all between the two.

    Speaking of GoDaddy... we currently have Deluxe shared hosting with them (cloud), but the performance is often so-so. So we are researching VPS options.

    Linode seems good, but it's unmanaged, and unfortunately we're no experts on hosting. So... can someone suggest a managed VPS host with Linode quality AND decently low prices? (Under $40/m)

    I suggest softlayer.com. But its hosting charge is high. Hostgator dedicated server is also fine in my own views.
