http://www.myanimesource.com Hello everybody, I made an Anime website late last year. I've been adding massive amounts of content, trying to brute force my way to traffic. I've been reviewing every single episode of one particular Anime in detail with pictures and will be doing the same for various series'. It got off to a slow start because I didn't even submit it to google until early this year and still haven't taken backlings, etc too serious. The traffic has been doubling monthly for the past few months (you can see the traffic in the extreme tracker at the bottom of the left side navigation). Me and a buddy are spitting out anywhere between 5-15 500-1000 word articles PER DAY. Just wondering what you guys think of the website, if I'm on the right track, what should I focus on, etc? The design will be updated soon and I'll spend more time making the access to the pages more neat. The hits usually come from queries that involve a line of text from the episode reviews. I.e: "What episode does blablabla meet blablabla" and a line of text from one of my reviews sends them there. I already have around 300 pages of content. I plan to have thousands of pages before the year ends. Average unique hits now are around 100-150 daily.
The theme looks fine, and the site's loading time is also fine, only took a second. As for you adding Episodes... you mean episode reviews? as I can't see any streaming Anime nor episode downloads.
Yeah I will be adding streaming episodes along with the reviews. The reviews are bringing in most of the traffic, which is why I've been adding them like a robotic slave. Keywords bring in about 80% of traffic from google queries, which I figure is the best kind of traffic to have, seeing as how they will see the whole site and not just some google image. Traffic is rising very nicely, today might break 200 unique visitors. And this is just for one Anime series that is still far from incomplete. Do you think my 'brute force' content plan will be able to get me 1000,2000, 5000 unique visitors per day one day? Seeing as if I have tons of series mapped out with content and streams?
I like the site, and it could definitely benefit from site promotion, link building, press release, web 2.0 staring at it, and so on.
As long as you make sure to provide mirrors for each episode, per series, then yeah. I know good quality reviews of Anime series can bring in alot of traffic, as I wrote 2 about a year ago and still get traffic from them. Just remember, quality series (eg., HQ videos with mirrors) > large quantity of series (series with 1 mirror per episode).
Thanks Dismatikz. You really have a popular site! I love the design as well. Tell me if this sounds like a good navigation layout...most sites have "Anime List" or something as a link that takes you to a long list of anime, each of those anime's having the list of episodes. Instead of having separate tabs for information / multimedia / streams etc, I was thinking about having the same kind of list, but just once you go to say, Naruto, you have a page with smaller menu's divided into the content (characters, episodes, etc) as well as the media for that particular anime (streams, images, etc). Sound like a good way to organize it?
Looks great, the only things I'd suggest are getting a new website header (the original one isn't very eye-catching) and changing the color scheme of the navigation links, grey on blue is a bit hard to read
Blog's background is clear, thumbnail content looking nice. Your site have unique content, simple design. Overall good job and i appreciate your work. Thanks........
Thankyou :] 2yrs of hard work! and it's true that alot of websites do in fact have that same form of navigation, but that's because it works. People like it, people know how to use it, and it's as simple as "Anime List > Anime Series > Anime Episode > Watching". The more effort required to reach the episodes results in people getting bored and moving on. Even if it's just an extra step or two. I'm not 100% certain what you're talking about though, so I guess I'd need to see either see it in action, or at least an image with what you mean. Also, for streams: http://www.myanimesource.com/animel...uto-shippuden-episode-60-full-episode-stream/ I'm not getting any videos. Error?
Sorry, been doing a lot of updates. Changed the theme a little, check it out www.myanimesource.com. Streams are being updated and a lot of the navigation needs work. Site still has a lot of work to do so some pages might not work since they don't exist yet, lol.
